This is my 10th anniversary custom board with custom pads/straps
Really beautifull Leeuwen! Which pads are those?
Indeed SP boarding customs pads.
I have not had time to take the pads out yet.
At home I did notice they are wayyyy tighter and locked in then anything I have tried before.
For bare foot that probably works out fine.
I am not sure how well it works with my boots.
It will fit but doing board-offs or getting into them after a crash might get tricky because they are a bit of a squeeze to get into.
I would probably buy one size larger then based on recommended their sizing next time.
Didn't work for me, but that doesn't mean they won't work for you ...

(Switched to using Duotone Entity L/XL straps, and my Lieuwe Shotgun has insert spacing for these straps of course).

Yes, I think it might be a bit hopeful thinking that it will work.
To get into them with 6mm is a bit of a chore and then it is so locked (but not uncomfortable) in it must be similar to people wearing boots
Not sure how much I like that. Up to now I was happy with the emergency bail-out/kickoff options.
I will try them out tomorrow. 30 knots+ winds in the forecast.
Will also take a backup pair of bindings with me just to be sure..

Small update: they started out too tight (could not even get it to click into the largest setting with one hand).
After a bit of riding it does seem to have improved. I can now easily click it in but I still need to totally loosen them if I need to get into the board.
The nice part is that the are locked pretty nice once my boots are in. I imagine they will be awesome with bare feet. At the moment board offs with boots is a no go though. (Not that I can do those... yet)
It seems that the provided screws are pretty short. I had trouble getting them in the board but I managed. After 3-4 hours of riding one came loose though.
Need to see how this continues maybe need to buy a slightly longer set of screws. Kinda stupid for such an expensive set of bindings
Like to hear if anyone else had that experience.

Shotgun pretty much comparable with a Jamie however slightly better channels and flex in the Shotgun...and that next to a customizable deck

I have Naish monarch 2019 and Lieuwe Shotgun carbonara. Both boards are very good in all respects. They have very similar characteristics. However, I prefer Carbonara. I also sailed on a regular Lieuwe Shotgun and this board is more flexi than Monarch and Carbonara

Anyone had a chance to ride the Shotgun against the Monk - back to back? These seem to be very close in their marketing speech.
I've been riding Monks for the last few seasons, test driving everything I can only to realise how good it feels to get back on the Monk... but i've been curious about Lieuwe boards and so far - haven't had a chance to try one in the suitable size.

I've had Monks. (iirc) the Monks were more flexible than the Shotgun but among other things lacked the clever channelling which gives the Shotgun its huge grip.

I also own a fully-channeled Axis Vanguard, which is my go-to beater board for spots with really bad rocks and when it gets too cold to ride barefooted (Axis large-esque footstraps work better with booties). Regardless, for the price this Vanguard did cost me (on a huge sale) it was and still is putting to shame most production boards with much more pedigree and income ambitions... which includes the above-mentioned Monk, the best of the best Brunotti-s and some carbon contraptions from F-One...
This being said - sadly - one of the things I actually don't like the Vanguard - is how sticky it is, thanks to the channeling. I suppose - it has to do more with my riding style than anything else - but the damn thing drives me nuts on every other transition. Things which are brainless while on the Monk - are becoming an uphill struggle on an aggressively-channeled board...

I don’t particularly find this on the Shotgun and the channels are only near the tops rather than all along the board. That said I do prefer it with slightly smaller find than it came with.
