I am using 40 cm custom length trimlite bars and happily ride them on a 13m contra and twin tip or foiling. I normally ride drifters 5m to 11m for foiling. With both set ups the very short bars are fine for me. I also aggressively kite loop on a TT, again no problem turning the kites, I am -38 pounds

Meant to say I’m 138 pounds. The bars are 2019. My wife is 97 pounds, we share and she likes a shorter bar as well. I just bought a KISS 50cm bar from kiteboarding.com. I will rig up some kind of flag out system as one is not provided. Thank you for everyone’s input.

This is what I built this year off old carbon Slingshot bar (yellow winder fork is not there anymore)
Hi
I'm looking into modifying my single skin snow kite bar setup . I have used the BRM-type until now, but I think your chicken loop is cleaner with less fuzz.
Did you make it yourself? If so,
how did you attach the release pin to the mail rope/depower rope?
My buddy made his own and I bought mine from kiteboarding.com
Jeff Howard rocks as he always has

My point was simply, that you wrote it happens when you fishpole it.
With a normal bar you never have to fishpole, so you wont get it stuck around the trim so easily, probably not at all, as the rear lines never comes close to the trim with a normal bar, whereas they wrap around and might get stuck when fishpoling on a supershort bar.
But if you want the short bar, you have to either remove the trim fully, or make it less "catching" removing the ball etc, as knotwindy wrote.
No reason to get a new minimalistic bar, as it will also be able to catch when fishpoling 90 degrees like you do, unless it has been stripped like you can do on your own 40 cm.

I see you point Peter and good advice. I Will pay close attention to the bar position in the turns. I am pretty excited to receive the new kiss bar. It’s nice to see someone on this side of the pond addressing foiling issues.

In the design I did the pin would be anchored on the main rope, fixed in place by a piece of rope coming back from the doubled loop (the tiny chickenloop is a double rope)
In Jeff Howard’s design the pin is attached to a tiny loop sewn into the main depower rope.
So in both cases the pin is attached to the main rope.
