when i was newbie- I have learned that putting helmet on creates force field and I can practice waterstarts alone- others will be far far away. Except other noobs
How do people look at GoJoe? Same effect? I started to use it after loosing my TT in waves few times.

With helmets, it seems to vary by geographic location (culture?). At my launch, most locals don't wear helmets on TT, but almost all do on hydrofoil. That's making helmets more prevalent in general. Lots of the non-local riders wear helmets all the time. So a helmet doesn't change my expectation of the rider's skill level.
But, GoJoe? Sorry. GoJoe = Kooksville.

A roll leash and a half pumped kite are the same thing, right?
When the wind stops, the kite flops.
When you let go of the leash, it rolls back up inside itself.

But, GoJoe? Sorry. GoJoe = Kooksville.
I am all for anything that gets anyone else out of my way faster than them not having it.
Brave enough to use a GoJo = good in my book.
But I am not a fan of those too self concious to use something they might get a benifit out of. That is worse than a kook, in my book.

That was me some years back. Took the stress of losing a board out of the equation, more relaxed, faster progress.

I am still using GoJoe, not because of bodydrag, but if lost in waves board becomes invisible and I kite in river mouth with strong current straight into open sea. I never felt more kook when came out of water without board.
