Anyone riding the 2019 Naish Torch ? There are virtually no reviews of the 2019, or 2020 out there. I'm a long term Torch rider and thinking of getting a new 2019, any feeback (currently on a mixture of 2014, 2015 and 2016 Torch's, staying away from the 2017 & 2018 as these were bad years for the Torch)
thanks

Can't say much about the Torch as my last model was a 2008, but seems to me that those "legacy" kites hasn't changed much over the years, besides some fine tuning. The Vegas, for example, hasn't changed in the last 6 or 7 years. Maybe C kites have evolved as much as they can with current technology

I'd say not just C kites, but all kites have evolved 99% as much as they can with current technology and materials.
But with new materials such as Aluula and other composites I think we could see further improvements.... and I expect other kite brands will jump in on the bandwagon.

I would say the changes in the Torch between 2016 (mine) and 2019 are pretty big in the last few years, for 2019 they included;
- New "king of the air" bridal option
- ESP canopy material
- New 5th line bar with spinning chicken loop, a change to all four lines at 24m
- Narrower struts
- pumping to 12PSI in 2019
- Shark tooth trailing edge
- No more octopus system on the 2020

"New "king of the air" bridal option"
I just this super funny for some reason....
Damien that designed the torch, left the company to do other things..
He did a great job with it's design i reckon, who is the naish designer now?

Interesting.
It is very important that kite designers have long term experience with kiting, and that they are qualified engineers with good experience.
I wouldn't mind being a kite designer, I have designed , laser cut and stuck/sewn together a 12m kite , it was really really bad but it did fly and pull me around.. so it was a start.
