I suspect those readings to be totally bogus.

I had myself a 23+ meter jump while it was definitely below 18...

Wouldnt trust any of those "world record" claims without a picture.
How did you measure that yours was below 18 meter?

Some have an inboard sense of height, seems it has something to do with flexing sphincter muscles. :o

hopefully riders go back to photos videos and witnesses when making big claims, nothing wrong with these devices, but they are what they are, don't get carried away with the height league insta style fame because it's like playing fortnite with a partly random bot to help or hinder u.

i don''t think they are a super bad thing, but they are what they are

its like a rod that measures a fishes flap to work out its length without catching it - it might give an idea but it doesnt give the truth

That's definitely easy when you are jumping at high tide not so far from the shore and that you can't see above building on the shoreline that are less than18 meters lol...

Honestly, every jump above the 18/20m height is easy to feel ... even without visual makers...

The woo and piq are totally useless with big jumps. I even got one day a 30m jump on woo while i was maximum at 15+...

Disclaimer, no on beach experience doing this. Watching king of the air with kiters in the background. estimation can be easier with kiters in the background given Lines are 25m and allowance for angles.do the same at local beach based either on relative height or mates watching?

Even with a picture you could only guesstimate the height since you don't know the distance from the rider the zoom that's being used.
