bla bla bla. check his jump high

45-40 for sure. Guy have video at least, not talks of his friends how they cannot catch his big jumping. Why Mike don't have event POV his camera if he so attacking records ? This jump is at least 40 meters, as you see how other kite is at double lower definitely.Even this jump without big wave ramp !!!!
Jayzuz... :-0

Legit monster jump.

That is rubbish.

Chest-camera => horizon forms a plane similar to construction laser. Camera is higher than items below horizon level but lower than items above horizon level. And camera optics does not matter as you see curved earth on pic. Still, below horizon is lower and above horizon is above.

1) red kite (and green further away) is below horizon
2) yellow kite on left is above horizon so it is higher than jumper. Kite lines 24m? Angle 45? => Yellow kite is at 17m height.

Red kite rider was just riding kite low, and jump is less than lines & riding angle of yellow kite. Also on right distant horizon you can see multiple kites above horizon level. During video's jump trajectory you can follow relative height other kites to prove "construction laser theory" works beautiful.

This is just a slow-motion videotrick of maybe 15-16m jump but not 40m+ or even 20m+.

The cam-hrzn -plane does not lie but number estimations do.

You can also check this by Lasse Walker. Also for previous post about planes check camera level with red kite when Lasse lands.

I am not sure that I agree with your horizon estimations.
Here is a simple drawing to illustrate how it appears to fail..
Maybe I am wrong and you can further correct me..
I do agree that there are tricks to make it look bigger than it is (slow mo and fish-eye make things way more dramatic for sure)
NO doubt it's a great boost but it could be 15-18 (if you are right with your explanation) or 40 meters as some others beleive.. and no way to really narrow it down to anything more definitive at this perspective.
So whoever thinks that this is a better proof than a woo reading even if the woo is 5m off (which is ~20% at 20m jump and 15% at 30m jump) should put down Koolaid and reconsider..

it's huge, that's important.

Get a Soloshot cam, that records your session when going for Woo Records, and there is your proof.

Or just have a camera sit on beach with zoomed out, so in any case you can show something.

Don't use wide angle lenses, just normal.

Good luck and go huuuuge !

I would like to see the original footage, how many seconds was the flight tells a lot, I believe around 20 max as well

You can't use other kites levels as a reliable measure of height. I ride "C" kites and have them way lower than others with "flatter" kites, wakestyle and freestyle riders generally all ride with their kites fairly low. These videos where people say "it was over 24m for sure because I could see over the other kites... so all the kites were parked and static overhead where they ? ermm no!

But with 22 M lines and 45 degree angle I’ll bet Pathagorus could figure it out pretty easily.

I am not sure that I agree with your horizon estimations.
Here is a simple drawing to illustrate how it appears to fail..
You are little bit high on your estimation of earth curvature (photo). I used earth curvature calculator:
- 2m eye level horizon distance (you can theoretically see object like coin at earth surface) is 5km, at 10km you can see 2m high object barely, 0.1m of the top.
- 10m jump camera level surface can be seen upto 11km
- 20m jump camera level you can see surface at 16km

If 1px/m is resolution at 10m jump height we would be thinking right angle triangle (for simplicity) of 11000 pixels wide and 10 pixels high. The hypotenuse would be practically parallel to 90 deg, exactly 0.05 degrees off ie down looking. If I did calculate correctly at 50m camera image would lie 5cm and at 1000m 90cm.

So it is pretty safe to say that the plane camera forms is pretty safe to 0-1km from camera. Over 1km you cannot see much of the jumper at wide angle action camera image. Quick calculation at drone gsd calculator at 1000m height gives 75cm/px with 2K video resolution, 1/2.3" sensor and 4mm focal length. So jumper would be 2-3 pixels at that 1000m distance already and camera lies 1 pixel - to fix you can move 3px kiter 1px up.

Maybe red kiter is max 50m away and yellow kiter max 200m? So it is pretty safe to say that scenario what you Deniska draw does not apply here.

Soloshot is out of business and while they are still selling old inventory, chances are it won’t work and there’s no warranty.
