Naish Torch 2017 & ESP system

Postby vomitou » Tue Nov 19, 2019 2:00 pm

Hi guys,

Just bought a second hand Naish Torch 2017 (8m) with ESP system, and have 2 questions about it:

1) What is the recommended lines lengths for this kite & size?
I have a Naish bar, but not sure if the lines are optimal in terms of lengths.

2) I understand the concept of ESP system (freeride vs freestyle mode),
but not actually sure how to setup them? where on the kite do I setup the freeride or freestyle mode?
And what is the exact difference between them other than power? (I suppose it also affects the windrange?)
Well, basically what does it do?

Thanks a lot for your help,
Cheers

24 m. is the happy medium, but considering the kite size you may also look for 20m lines.
By removing the esp line and attaching the front lines directly to the front pigtails you'll set your kite to freestyle. W/ esp should be the freeride setting. Not sure does it makes big difference but the wind range or if you do very technical hp moves.

Cool thanks for the info,
I guess with 20m lines the kite will be much more reactive and speedy? While with 24m lines it will be more soft in terms of feelings?

Ok so basically directly to pigtails =freestyle?
I thought that shorter frontlines would actually "close" the wing and therefore depower the kite?
