That's Hiss-tory. The new owners are kayak people.

Marketing? C'mon, I did not see any marketing for Carved boards, and they still sell well above 1000Euros.
Carved is a custom brand that lives from its reputation and word of mouth marketing. Core, owned by the same company (Hiss-tec) however invests tons of money in marketing. Just like other "huge brands" like Duotone etc.

Ok,

I'll bite. Tons of money means what exactly? More expensive gear. That. Just look at what Dimitri M. is doing. Epic does not need ANY expensive marketing and the chain of command, or huge managers machinery behind the brand.

Internet marketing is cheap as chips.
What? :o That is just not true. It's very expensive given the fact that a lot of brands use a freaking army of "influencers" (shopriders and teamriders) who are basically paid by discounts on kites and need management as well. And what about all the marketing videos for new products etc, sending teamriders, filmmakers etc. to spots all over the world? What about advertising on websites and dynamic ads? I work in Marketing (not kite related) and I can assure you that real internet marketing is expensive af unless you think that this term means posting a status update on facebook once a month.

Again, look what direct selling brands are doing. Look what Dimitri is doing as well. First you said the word of mouth marketing for Carved works well, now you saying other brands need huge spending. Carved does market their product even on this site. So, no, you are wrong.
In the marketing scheme NOTHING beats a TV for spending. You know that well. Do we see a TV ads all over the Planet? No. They can't afford it. Which means in the grand scheme of things, what they are spending for marketing is not much.

Today, people who ride well are just not that better. If better at all.
Who said that Aluula will make anyone a better kiter? Well ok, maybe Langeree can megaloop a 12m now, who knows. However, in lightwinds, but also in high winds kites could become more stable and agile. And no, that does not mean at all that anyone will ride better. But it means that kiteboarding could become more accessible and yes, that means more and more people mowing the lawn.
We talking here about the *game changers*, and the price. If the brand wants to increase the price, they introduce a *game changer*. Simple. How is something more accessible by increasing the price is unknown to me. But sure, you answered the moving the lawn (MTL) issue .

To get the kiting numbers up, we do not need a MTL. We need kiters who look super cool and do stuff which takes the breath out of spectators or other kiters. But read on:
- trust me, the kiting numbers are down in AU. And we have the best conditions on the Planet.

I can with ease do 200 hours per year on TT. And that's after my work, not even including weekends. Well some, all right. Add SB and HF that can be hundreds of hours for some. What you see probably are the weekend warriors or tourists on your/any local. That blurs the perception of this sport that number are up. No, they are not. They might sell more to recreational kiters who use the kite 15 days a year.

lol...I'l raise you with a snapped achilles!

Isn't that "secret prototype" just a Naish X10 ? ....still have one !!

Alluula, Graphene, etc, early adopters will no doubt pay large sums to have the latest technically advanced kit & look flash on the beach..some will know how to use it properly & make it look good, but for most it wont make any difference at all and the main difference is the person holding onto the bar. That said, old/overused kites do feel like bags of sh1te & after heavy use, they need to be recycled!

Just out of interest, with the current trend towards sustainability, the 1/2 life of a graphene coated kite must be a 1000 yrs....it would be more impressive if a corn starch kite could be made &/or when you finish with a kite, you can boil it up with a bit of soy source and eat it !

the new toys are for people who can't jump or maneuver but hope that the kite improvements will improve as well, not realizing that they have to improve themselves and not the kites .. they fulfill the gaps left by frustrations with new toys ... economy relies heavily on this ... in any case aluula seems to be revolutionary and we hope it works as they say Just few months and we Will see

What we need and expecting for real 21st century LEI kite:
That normal LEI kite of 12 meter will have maximum 1 kg of weight.
9 meter will have 0.7 kg and
7 meters 0.5 kg,
what is it,
with these parameters we will count that this is 21 century kites.

Now all kites are super heavy and definitely from 20th century age.

Lines streching, bars are also super havey (no a lot of carbon bars still), harnesses too.
Common guys, this is all still made from 20 century technology.
