There was a time when kiting ruled. I there was wind I would need to utilize it or I would get shitty.
I kited a lot in those days. 4 maybe 5 days a week

Now I've backed the kiting off to weekend warrior. Once on the weekend, maybe twice if I'm lucky, sometimes I might go weeks or a month or so without kiting,

The addiction has subsided, I now go kiting when the wind is good and or there's time.
If I'm doing something else instead of kiting and it's windy that's ok too. The world does not end if I miss a powered session.

I'm now a better person because I kite less and i don't HAVE to get that session.

Discuss!

Yeah... I feel you. Had a kid two years ago, so I haven’t kited in two years... no time. I did get into powered paragliding.....which is fucking awesome and a lot less time consuming. Why have you lost the kite feeling? I haven’t lost shit, but time. Now the boy is older I’m back on track.

So fatherhood only brought you to the brink, not over the edge? That’s encouraging... :naughty:

Seriously, there are things more important and better than sports. Respect and best wishes!
Do have a kite now and then, good for the soul!

yeah, I am over the honeymoon period, love kiting and do it whenever I can, but not suffering as greatly if miss it.

As you say, gives time to do other more productive things. Like surf foiling for 6 hours today, bahahahahahha. :thumb:

Seriously, though, I have enjoyed getting back into the surf lately. Wind is a bonus, when it happens.

Plummet,

I kite less than I used to, I am not sure if that makes me a better person. Perhaps, a more balanced and happy person. I think more about the needs and desires of those around me instead of my next kite fix.

I think the best thing about kiting less is that when I kite, I enjoy it more. I feel grateful for the time on the water now. That being said, I still get antsy after several weeks with no wind.

I would hate it if I lost my stoke. I remember back in 1977 Cat Stevens lost his stoke for music changed his name to Yusuf sold all his guitars I felt so bad for him. I don't care what it is that brings joy to life it's always a shame when you loose interest in it. I know after 30 years Cat Stevens started making music again so it's always possible to get your stoke back.

Now that I've lost everything to you
You say you wanna start something new
And it's breaking my heart you're leaving
Baby, I'm grieving
But if you want to leave, take good care
Hope you have a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there
Oh baby baby, it's a wild world
