Conditions and wind quality notwithstanding, the one tine I remember doing this it was very hard to see, i.e. a lot of squinting, etc. Difficult to enjoy the day. I would assume glasses would get super blurry. Any thoughts on this or do you simply avoid? I am sure there are many variables to consider like wind speed and rain heaviness. Thanks

i've kited in the rain hundreds of times. It's fun if the wind isn't too strong. Once it gets up to 30-40 knots I have to quit because rain feels like bullets on your face. Just rig go out see if you have fun. If it's fun do it again if not, then maybe kiting in the rain isn't for you. When you get home you have to spread your kites all over the place inside your house to dry overnight, so make sure you warn the wife first. Worst thing about kiting in the rain is it's hard to get good video.

Well over a decade of personal research has convinced me that kiting in the rain is not as appealing as kiting when it’s not raining.

Rain and wind comes together here in the Netherlands so if you don't like it better get used to it. But indeed 35knots and up and rain isn't fun anymore. Still the stoke isn't getting less

A sopping wet kite is a pain in the ass.
Everything is relative. Less appealing does not always equate to not worth it, but it becomes a bigger factor as the temp drops.

I don't mind a sprinkle, but if it's a hard rain, it hurts. Plus the wet kite thing. It's like bicycling in the rain. Painful and messy equipment afterwards. Not for me.

I kite in the rain, even foiling in 25 knot winds. Can be a surreal experience with the visuals of rain dimples and smoke on the water, low visibility, etc.. otherworldly.
A baseball cap or hat with a brim works great for keeping rain out of your eyes, just tuck your chin or pull the brim down a bit.
