Never been to Brandvlei, thanks. I'm heading east now for this week, going to score some strong SWesters and NEasters, visiting my old childhood haunts.

check out the social media for kitesurf Hermanus. West is indeed best. Happy to give you guys a heads up. Today was epic with some of the top pro's throwing down some insane loops and hangtime in up to 50 knots winds. Wind average 35+ knots. https://www.facebook.com/KitesurfHermanus/https://www.facebook.com/Lassewalkerkit ... 932335471/ The whole of the east coast is dotted with awesome spots away from the madding crowds of Blouberg. When its west Hermanus is Lit and clean wind. Although it can go super gusty with North in it.

Instead I had a great day of NEaster at Nahoon Beach in my hometown of East London, reminiscent of riding at Cape Hatteras on a NEaster there. Nice warm water, no crowds, a few friendly locals, great flawater in the river mouth to get speed and then hit a small kicker for big jumps. Rode 9m in the morning and 7m in the afternoon. Lekker!

I doubt its lewis all pros are very well media trained.

Id say its just some random middle aged dude like myself angry that hes going bald and growing bitter because hes always beaten by children and to top it off having to deal with kooky ass freeriders (if your not unhooking your a freerider, cant call yourself a wave rider if you are hooked in and if its hooked in it aint freestyle or wakestyle)

Hooked in?
doesnt count
and if your not crashing your just sailing

Everything goes until you hurt someone, it is called reckless endangerment in the United States.

Always funny how people who cant kite think kiting is dangerous. Its not until they develop the ability to do so they realise the risks are easily managed.

Lifes good but it would be alot better if a manufacturer produced some 8 line closed cell kites for gliding.

Plenty of small islands with shear cliffs that we could kitesurf upto on short lines and use the compression to jump up and glide to the top of then glide out to land in the water again.

But were to busy being well... Boring middle aged fat men who cant unhook.

So my question to the horde of midlife crisis's is this... If your so afraid to unhook or throw down and you think big jumps is where its at.... Why dont you grab a foil kite on 10m lines kite near a cliff do a jump and see where it takes you?

Why only sink on a 4 line inflatable kite when you could climb on a 8 line foil kite on short lines?
