Hi Piccio,

Indeed it was quite a day for most of us competent, but not world-class, kiters. One I will remember for a long time. I will say that changing down from 7m to 5.5m was a huge improvement in control for me, if not any more allowing me to do big jumps as I don't trust my landings on 5.5m. But jumping on the 7m was simply out of control for me, even the board getting caught sideways in the air was enough to throw me off my landings.

I too left early Friday morning and five days later am still missing it all, while preparing for a new sailing adventure. This video from Sean Overbeek appears to be from Thursday, and explains who the guy on the yellow Ozone was!

Hi Piccio / Hugh,

This was our first time over at Blouberg South Africa, me Sean ( yellow Edge V10 ) and my brother Jamie Overbeek ( Orange Edge V10 ) We were riding along Kevin Langeree and Lasse Walker. Amazing conditions, fully powered on our 10 mtr. kites. Second sesh few days after was even better on our Edges V10 8.0. Had an amazing meetup with some of our heroes and man what nice and approachable guys they are. Wanna see some of the highlights watch our Red Bull megaloop entry vids including material filmed these particular sessions at Blouberg.

Nice Sean, wish I had met you guys, but you were clearly doing some huge megaloops out there, far beyond anything I can contemplate. But man did I have fun and your videos bring back good memories, thanks!

March has been quite a quiet month, wind-wise and tourist-wise. Only had 9 sessions this month and its a lot less crowded. We had an awesome 25kn+ past Sunday so we planned to do a downwinder from Ganzekraal to Saldanha. Unfortunately, the wind dropped to about 15 knots at Tsaarsbank so we aborted the mission there. Our lift was waiting in Saldanha so we were luckily offered a ride by a kind stranger. Here is a video of the adventure:

Very nice Lanc! I'm pretty sure I met you guys on the bus at Holbaai one day. All three of you were on twintips just like this run. I can't recall what I was riding that day, I go either way. And I'm envious, I'm stuck in Central Illinois where it is not only cold but our local lake is closed to sailing and kiting, and I had to bail on my Pacific sailing plans from Panama as that country closed down earlier this week. Just like that the crowds with their egos, swagger, shouting and zero consideration for others are gone.

And we have it all to ourselves again.
