some safety info for CORE bar users..If you use the new SENSOR 2S with plastic center lines anywhere near sand, don't bet on successful quick release when needed. The thing gets easily jammed either at the depower cleat (see the plastic line on top) or while passing through the rotator tube.. My last 2 QR attempts failed exactly due to those 2 reasons. This is a stupid way to design a safety release! You cannot put hard plastic line through a tight metal hole and expect it to work anywhere around sand!!
I know that some CORE dealers are reading this.. Please contact the manufacturer and make them change this retarded design before someone gets hurt!!!

Why is that plastic end pulled so far through and poking out the far side on the metal housing?
Haven’t you done threads about Core before?

thats because you can (if you need it) pull down the hole trimblock to shorten the bar throw

I had this when I released it as a precaution at a point there was barely any line tension.
Was not super worried about it (although it is not nice)
My reasoning was/is that in a real bad situation a few grains of sand probably wont stop the release when there is significant force pulling the safety line.
If this is not the case, and it has the same issue under tensions, it would be great if you made a video of how the sand blocks the release even with force applied and post it here.
Core would not be able to ignore a video showing the issue.
I maybe used the quickrelease 3 times ever so I would not know if the issue happens under tension.

Yes, thats a real issue with this design, so just check if its clammed or not before each session. I started doing it after I had a similar failed QR attempt.

The QR failed last 2 times for me when I tried to release on the beach instead of anchored self-landing, because I was very powered and was not sure if the sand anchor would be able to hold the kite.. So there was definitely line tension..
I am not going to do any videos any more.. Tried that approach before with a different QR issue on the same bar. It will just trigger some know trolls to turn it in to a personal battle..
Anyone with a brain should see how this design is bad without any video.. This is just common sense: don't run a hard PU line through a tight metal hole!
If you rig on a sandy beach - sand will find it's way inside, no matter how careful you are with your setup.

Too bad that this guy isn't riding any Epic gear - that would have been a show not to miss.
OP, you've been having so many issues with Core bars - why are you still using them? You can perfectly fly Core kites from any other high-Y bar. Perhaps it's time to move on and quit bitc@ing?

I do have and use other bars, kites and gear.. over last month I had a line snap on my RRD bar(low V) I also broke rails on a foil board and lost a foil..
both issues came after a fair amount of use and abuse so I honestly don't consider them manufacturer's fault..
This issue is different..
I don't consider my post a bitching but a WARNING that may save some people a hospital visit..
If you don't use CORE bars around sand - walk away this does not concern you.

But still using a bar that you already find to be at fault in your opinion?
Why do that?
