As said, give and take.
Per session I wait more for others than anyone else.

You never rode with me so how dare you say that.

Ah first the kitewavers love the idea because is favorable for then but... very soon the same local will change it again because is to crowd for them and just they will surf...
Can u see it happening exactly like in the surf we are moving to an localism fireplaces and soon any of u will be able to kite in such places... people should look a bit forward

The more maneuverable craft MUST give way. Always. Doesn't matter if you are a fishing boat or million ton oil boat. That's the PRIMARY rule of the ocean.

When you are "On a Wave" you have way less maneuverability than if you are just riding.
Doesn't it say that the less maneuverable craft must hold its course while the other have to make room? Aren't you changing your course while surfing a wave? I also thought that the number one rule was to avoid collision.

Yeah that's all true. Number two rule then? And sure you are not moving in a straight line on a wave. We ride waves for fun so it's a little different than the usual boat safety rules.

Yeah, we had this discussion already in another thread. Toby was complaining about some dork trying to surf a half meter wave that made it into the flatwater lagoon. And just on the outside it was like twice as big! I'd be pissed too. Ride the feature where it is good, not where it is barely of note. (Yes, sometimes I will do some riding on secondaries on the inside on double overhead days too.)

I am pretty sure Toby is not one of those guys that rides in the break and avoids the wave to ride on the flat.

No need to pick a great wave for launch pad for TT. Wave matters when you want to ride a wave it matters way less on a TT. I come at this from both perspectives. I would never try to do my jumping if there was a lineup of wave riders

You can totally use chop as a launch pad and you definitely dont need to be in the middle of a lineup for a TT launch. It should be easy to manage this.
.
I wonder why they always organize KOTA at a wave spot?
Sure you can boost off some chop on TT.. but by the same token a wave rider can ride chop.. both will not be optimal kiting experience..

Good example with Capetown.

Now is this a wave spot where they have KOTA ?

Lots of jumpers...but wave riders have right of way?
Well, right hand in front of wind from left would apply to me, so Surfer’s habe it there for me...but, is it a problem there or not ??

You should go to Capetown that's the best way to find out. Would be a fun trip.

Would that get rid of the "man in the grey suit" that we all get to see the vids of. (I know it is actually around the corner, not there.)
