Have you also observed shorter throw as commented above compared to other bars in the market?
It's weird as I've had more people comment on the throw being long, not short!?
It seems you can't win
I read this and thought I must measure mine for throw as I hate long throw bars.
and wow! mine measures 30cm or12 inches :o
which is just perfect for me, shorter arm length maybe, but i just like to spin the bar and catch it without looking, the bar just spins and lands back in my palm.
it maybe to do with using ozone Chrono foil kites as I never touch the depower.
ozone compact bar, for those who like short throw.

I never realized that there was so much differences between the different brand in terms of bar throw. I was assuming it was more standard.

I think there are not so big differences. The only bars that have longer bar throw are for example slingshot, Duotone and maybe other brand with adjuster down at the CL for example

its a personnel preference I know,
i must be more weird than others though.
12 inch bar throw
small loop
very close harness slider rope
and a ion seat seat harness.
just lie back and spin that bar, no reaching up out of line with hacking upwind.
suits me sir!

I bought the north navigator at last. Really great bar, super happy about it. It is so comfortable compared to my Slingshot bar. Only issue was the line management bungee retracts to the floats sometime hard to get out. Overall very good bar, recommended.
I would prefer if the bar came with 20m line with 2m extension rather 12m and 10m extension.

The bar throw is 18in, which is perfect for my short arm. I found it very easy to sheet in and out.

Yep agree well made.
Took my 12m Orbit out ystd 11-15 knots semi powered could pop to blind etc had to wait for gust until I could load up for a boost went upwind easy so has excellent low end better haven't tested top end yet hopefully later this wk.
But it's a fast kite. Fastest 12m I've ever ridden
Super comfortable in your hands.
Adapted to it straight away and felt comfortable.
Bungee depower line looks like it won't wear as fast as rope.
Probably best bar available this yr imo.
Good work North keep it coming

To add to my earlier review: my kite shop contacted me because I had one of the earlier Navigator bars, that was subject to a recall (possible premature wear of the depower line?). They sent me a brand new bar free of charge, so good on North! Looks like they fixed the annoying bungee cords. Also feels like the flagging line has a bit more tension on it, which is great because it retracts immediately and is less likely to pick up sand, like the flagging line on the clickbar does after self-landing your kite. Depower throw is still too short for my taste though...

Thinking of picking up one of these bars. The main concern I have is snagging of the safety line. I’ve never had a bar where that was inside the sleeve with the deliver line. That and I’ve had experiences on other bars where it just didn’t smoothly deploy (getting caught on the area where the safety connects with the front line). How is everyone feeling about that aspect on this bar?

And related to that tubing sleeve: does that add any difficulty in untwisting (ozone for instance specifically mentions the simultaneous untwisting of the alert line? And lastly, anyone think this might jam/ice up in the winter/snow?

Hey,

my experience of the navigator bar after 10 month of use is very good.
My big bar was used round about 90 times. Safety is absolutely no problem. I mainly go big air kiting with looping or I go foiling. Yesterday I untangled my safety line for the first time. Before that I tried if the kite releases. No problem. All went perfect. At my homespot and the spot I am in Croatia at the moment, there is not much wind in the starting area. So normally you have to ride in fast and release the safety and swim the rest.
So from my point nothing to worry about. Just untangle sometimes the flexible part of the safet line if you only loop in one direction. Btw that is something you should do with every bar if you only loop in one direction.
All in all it’s one of the best bars I had and I am kiting since 2005.

I had another brand before this one and was very difficult to reset after pulling the safety. The line got stuck and required a lot of force. I rinsed it and kept it clean etc. Anyway the Navigator has no such issue, very easy to deploy and reset. No issues untwisting either. Have used on water in minus 3C and a bit of ice as you'd expect on pretty much everything. Used on snow in colder temps and as long as it stays dry - it is fine. One hand reset of the chicken loop is a big plus as well.

Very happy with the bar and would buy another.
