Caribbean alternative to Cabarete for early February

Anything besides Cabarets ?

Barbados too wavy.

Not sure about the nightlife, but Grand Cayman - Barker's is really fun this time of the year. 20-25 knots might be the tough part, definitely solid upper teens.

Barbados in February is on my list for next year for my 40th, I've been all over the Caribbean but never to Barbados. Swell and wind sound perfect, and it's on my goofy footed side. Any suggestions on where to stay with a non-kiting/surfing wife?

I have been 5x to Barbados but always for Xmas.
Amazing place with great waves
But it is definitly not a TT spot. The lagoon is very choppy with strong current depending on tide.

Silver Rock is the most popular beach followed by Long Beach which is also great for TT. I don't recommend Foul Bay as there are not many beaches downwind in case shit happens...once the wind turns SE we foil often at Sandals Beach which is super nice as well. Can be quite gusty this time of the year, though...

How is Barbados on July? Does it has good waves? or wheere could have at this time? Thank you bro

Wind looks pretty light this weekend and Monday, but Tuesday to Saturday is looking OK. But hey, forecasts. We shall see ...

I just got back from Union Island ( St Vincent and the Grenadines) and would have gotten skunked had it not been for foiling (12 to 14 knots). From what I hear, this isn't typical for this time of year.

It picked up towards the end to 18 knots, and my understanding is that 20-25 is more typical.

There's a flat water spot on kite beach, a bigger flat water spot with deeper water at Frigate, and then if you have boat access you can do Mayreau or Tobago Cays within 10-15 min. There's only a few bars / restaurants in town, so probably not the most hopping place.

Been in Grand Cayman this week. I only brought my foil so can only comment from that perspective but the wind has been good.

We're staying in an Airbnb in Villa Pappagallo in the West End, just at the entrance to Barkers. Probably one mile to the kite spot.

We arrived on Sunday afternoon and it was very windy, but did not get out. By the time we got unpacked and ate it was too late (with our wives).
Monday @ Barkers: Wind mid-teens but was up and down, was bouncing back and forth between my 7m and 10m and 1200cm2 V2 Kool wing.
Tuesday @ Barkers: Wind mid-teens+, pretty steady. Pretty steady 7m all afternoon on the 800cm2 WaveXL wing. Love the WaveXL, first ride on it.
Wednesday : Light wind, probably could have rode the 12m Pulsion but went snorkeling etc with the wives.
Thursday @ Colliers Beach: Steady 20 I'm guessing. Rode the 4m Firefly with the WaveXL. Great day except cut up my foot next to shore.
Friday - Today: Spend the morning at the clinic getting a 1cm piece of metal extracted that was embedded in my foot. Stitches and on antibiotics.
Saturday: Looks to be mid teens at Barkers but I may not be riding.

Barkers: Good place once you're out on the water. Clean wind as long as no south in it. Jhon who runs the school is a great guy. Rigging area is fine with some shade. Launching and landing area on the beach is narrow but fine, the winds are typically side or side-on. Lots of seaweed etc next to the water to catch in your lines you need to be aware. Also, water is murky with unknown 'hazards' below the surface for the first 50 yards, then crystal clear. Great riding spot with friendly people. Crystal clear water after walking out. Booties recommended for near shore.

Collier's Beach: Huge sandy rigging area. Lots of covered cabanas with benches and tables. Bathrooms and showers. We were the only kiters there on Thursday. I should have worn booties but probably would not have mattered for my specific injury. Similar to Barkers there is a 50m band of dark murky water near shore with unknown hazards, where I injured my foot. The doctor at the clinic said people go there in the evening drink, tossing their empties in the water, arghh. Great place to ride in anything without any West in it.

Great food, bit pricey but not as bad as I was thinking. We have also cooked a few meals at the rental which helps. We're very happy with our location up North. Lots of good restaurants and activities close by. Went down to Seven mile beach one day and that it not for us.
