Hey guys,
I am a new here, and looking to take a trip to OBX in April for Kiteboarding lessons. I am a complete beginner, and would like to spend 3-4 days doing lessons and the rest of the week practicing with supervision. Ideally, i'd like to only spend 2-3 hours a day so I don't get burnt out. Is OBX a good place for beginners? Can someone recommend a good company to learn? I read some good things about Kitty Hawk, but not sure if thats the best place.
Thank you!
Vin

I have another option. There is Kite Riders LLC in Wisconsin. I believe they go down for the month of April and rent a house. I assume they give lessons but the best part for a beginner is that the house would also be full of kiters so you would have people to ride with and look after you outside of your lessons.
Good Luck

OBX is amazing for beginners, one of the best spots in US to learn kiting and April is relatively warm month with good winds and low chances of nature getting the island access shut down. As stated above, check with Bob on lessons availability

Hatteras is a great choice. If your in the Avon area Jay Crawford @ Outer Banks Kiting will deliver. My wife and stepdaughter both have taken lessons with Jay and they loved him.Jay uses new equipment and will take you out on his boat away from any distractions and other kiters.Have recommended Jay to friends who have taken lessons elsewhere and he was by far the best.Welcome to a sport that will change your life forever

Im looking at Avon, NC in June. How strong is the wind? Im reading summer is a great time to Kitesurf OBX, but then sites say average wind is 10 knots.

June has been traditional month of Triple-S competition, and starting this year it’s off so Real slick won’t be hogged for a week by the event. Yet speaking of wind it could be a wild bet - I’ve seen folks on ramps on 14m kites which is just very questionable joy to ride. Or alternatively I was overpowered on 7m on some days.
Most predictable is April-May with June being questionable and fall could be most amazing unless your trip gets cancelled because of a hurricane.
