Also i must say i have the woo and got one time on the woo jumps recorded at 28m in 15 kts.... I'm almost sure than half of the top 30 leaderboard is due to some measuring issue.
Do you plan to integrate some algo to detect such thing and prevent such fake leaderboard ?
OK, let's take one thing at a time. First of all, the 28m jump. Did you see it on the watch in Woo Screen app? If yes, was it still present in your session when you loaded session from your WOO to a phone? Sometimes WOO does report erroneous jumps, but most of the time they are filtered out by the official Woo app during loading. WOO gave me some of the filtering algorithms they use, I might implement them in the Woo Screen app later on. So far it wasn't much of a problem - I myself saw it only once.
Second, if the 28m erroneous jump did get loaded and posted on leaderboard. A lot of us self police and delete such jumps. They are easy to spot, just look at the other jumps in the session, and also history of previous sessions. People who can really jump high tend to do it often
. By now we know most of the people on Woo leaderboard by name, just because we see them on daily and weekly leaderboards all the time. If a new name pops up, I usually go through his/her history to make sure it is not a one time luck or error.
And lastly, you asked if I (a developer of Woo Screen app) can prevent erroneous jumps from polluting leaderboard. The answer is no, it is not possible for me to do it. WOO sessions and leaderboard are maintained by official WOO app, my app just displays jump height reported by WOO in real time
. It does not save it anywhere - that is what official WOO app does.
