Need some tips on a trick (vid link)

Postby ichabod » Thu Feb 13, 2020 4:45 am

I saw nice trick in this vid at 53 seconds which I've tried and failed to replicate. Can anyone give any pointers? I'm not even sure what it is called - some kind of hooked in back to wrapped? Looks neat anyway:

Thanks!

Its a bs 3 into wrap ( ignore the 180 to torsude carve into it for now) coming out with an olay ( bar over head.)

Start with bs 180s popped to blind on lock, then over rotate these to 270 so they turn into a bs 270 to slide.. then another 90 degrees.

I hate olays.. I have done loads out of all sorts of tricks.. but riding low depower kites they try to remove my shoulder socket.. kill power with down winding out of these tricks and with higher depower kite ( like a normal one these days.. )

Try a toe side into fs360 too.. can do hooked in as well as unhooked.

Hey thanks for the tips, will give it another shot today! Not much experience doing Ole. My problem seemed to be getting the kite into a position where it was slack enough to do this without just ending up doing a regular backroll - guess I'm not headed downwind enough. It looks a bit like the carve he does is directly after a jump landing - was wondering if that was a useful part of the trick to jump and land travelling downwind under the kite.

I just thought... approach it switch to the way you do your best blind.. that way when you twist you are in a familiar position... ( the wrapped feels pretty similar to blind...
