Anyone that is keen, I am going to make another tarp kite and see if I can actually get riding on one.. sooo close last time.. not quite enough wind but flew no problem.. cost $12! Set it up with a 5th line. Thinking of adding some kind of leading edge this time from swim noodles or a super simple inflate leading edge...
I couldn't believe it flew the first time out.. inc kiteloops.
I bunch together the tarp cirners and larks head it for attachments.. maybe don't try this in high winds !!! :-0

g]I like the pool noodle idea. Shave them down at the tips and ends etc for the struts and le
Put ductape over the tarp prior to stitching to make the thread not tear tarp so easily can also brush the stitching with superglue etc if you can get some by bulk.
I dont see why you dont just stitch in some reinforcements for the attachments and bridles etc
A nice tarp kite to make would be a steerable rogallo

I like very much the idea of the Rogallo wing...which led to the modern hang glider, by the way.
In my idea, it could become a new kind of specifically designed kitesurf kite.
Main point is, a zenith perfect stability, totally depowered. Then sheeting in would flatten the shape, increase the wingspan, producing more lift, and making it steerable.

NASA parawing might be a good design to start with.

I was just thinking last week to look for the Nasawing I did. out of an old Yarga years ago and take it on a spin with the foil. Anyone tried that?

I think the smaller ones would work ok on a foil. I have seen people use them for buggying.
Not good for getting upwind, but on a foil it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I made an LEI out of tarp. It flew fine for a couple of sessions but it soon stretched and became crap. Invest in some better material, then you can use it more than once! Used ripstop is almost free (old kites and sails)
