2019 Cabrinha 48/56cm and 12m

Postby CanadianGringo » Tue Mar 03, 2020 4:49 pm

Hey just picked up a Cabrinha 2019 adjustable.
Still in the box not sure if I should keep it or sell it. For some reason I thought the 48-56 would give me several settings in between, not one or the other. Yes I should have watched a 2 min video on YouTube first.

Here’s the issue: I have a 52cm now that I use with my 10,12, and 16. I would say I use the 12 and 16 the most. Yes the 16 is slow to turn but I have gotten use to it and suits my riding style. On my 10m is obviously too big but doable and I don’t use the 10 much.

I am thinking 48cm will be too small for my 12m? 12m is a pretty common size for me and thinking 48cm is not ideal. 56 will no doubt be too much.

Thoughts?

You can use it at the 56 cm setting for the 12 and 16 and at the 48cm with the 10 and you'll be just fine.

48cm with a 12m is absolutely fine, in fact if I am not mistaken Cabrinha used to have a 48cm bar with a 12m kite back when you purchased them together 10 years back. My own personal preference is 44cm for 8 and 10, 52cm for 11 and 12, and 60cm for 15 and above.

I have the 48-56 and use it on 56 on my 12 FX no problem at all - really good if the wind is a bit low and you need to generate power - or if youre planning any loopy stuff. Then if I want to unhook, I use the 48 setting on my 12 also. I really like these sizes. I also use the 48 with my 9m & 7M (although I sometimes use a 42 on the 7 too).
