Mystic Stealth Bar - Size Selection

Hi guys,

I need some help to select the correct size of the Mystic Stealth Bar. Do you have some hints or spots where to look at in order to make sure I selected the right size? I'm in the middle between 240mm and 280mm at the moment. I want to ride the Stealth Bar with a Dakine C1. The 240mm fits quite okay and I can insert the "wings" into the harness pockets with some problems on the right side only - therefore I am not sure whether it's correct.

Thanks in advance!

It really depends on your waist size and harness. I'm a size 32 and I bought the medium one it was too small for my prolimit medium harness the straps were too short. I sold it to my friend who is about the same waist size and it fits great with his Ride Engine medium. I ordered a large for me and it's good. So it really depends on your harness and waist size nobody can tell you go to a store and try them all.

You mean some problems because it is too short? Then it seems quite clear to me you should have one size bigger?

I have M harness (Majestic X) with the M stealth bar (28cm). Certainly no issue with the wings being too short.

I'm 200+ lbs, wear 32 waist size jeans, ride medium-size Warrior harness with the largest Stealth bar.

I'm 34" waist 81kg/178lb. I have a Medium Ion Echo seat harness (which fits me really well) with a Medium Stealth bar. The webbing on the harness is only just long enough to fit the bar OK, and in retrospect I should probably have bought a Large (320mm) bar instead of the Medium (280mm). The 280mm bar works fine, it's just the harness webbing that's a bit short.

Hi guys,

thanks for your feedback.

of course I tested the 240mm and 280mm bars in the shop and the shop owner gave me some advises, as he is using the harness as well. Just afterwards I had some doubts whether the 240mm one is the right choise.

Of course I also understand that the actual size selection is totally depending on person, but I hope you know some general hints what to look for.

I attached some photos of the harness on my waist. The Dakine is size M.

I remember seeing a video somewhere that one should aim to have about a hand width of webbing between the ends of the bar and the webbing buckles. I can't find it now and not sure if it just related to the stealth bar in combination with the majestic x harness, but was probably on the original stealth bar thread.

You mentioned you had some problems fitting the wings of the 240mm in the harness, is this because they're already long for the harness? If so, the 280mm isn't an option anyway as by the sound of it you won't be able to get the wings in and tighten the harness up enough.

If you were using a rope, the 280mm probably has a longer slide, not compared though, which might be an advantage. As you're using a hook, if it's comfortable as it is with the 240mm what are you hoping the 280mm will add?

What were your reasons in the shop for choosing the 240mm over the 280mm? Only you know how they felt. Objectively there's no right or wrong, it's whatever is most comfortable for you.

Maybe go back to the shop or order a 280mm and dangle off something to see what's more comfortable.

I have a M Prolimit vapour with an M stealth, the webbing is longer but solid with the wings. My previous manera (large) had a 320mm bar, but it kept riding up. A wider bar is better as it prevents the harness compressing your sides, but with the C1 this might not be an issue.

Correct. Or at least that was the recommendation from what might have been a guy from Mystic.

As for the OP and the pictures. I am not an expert on harness fit, but to me the pictures look fine. Nothing for me that suggests the fit is completely off. I tried mine on just now and in terms of webbing I think it is quite similar to you. Then again I got a Mystic harness so there might be differences as to how the wings fit for you.

I don´t know if the sizing is different between the two brands, but M harness is the largest harness where M bar is recommended for Mystic. So for Mystic it would be slightly odd to have a S bar with a M harness. Not saying it wouldn´t work, I would have no idea, but with Mystic M harness you would normally go M or L bar - not S.

Here's the video. As above, this is specific to the magestic x harness, but thought there'd be carryover. Most important is how they felt when you tried them on, no one can tell you that.
