Nice idea. I want to see the promo videos.

"You are your friends still going out getting drunk and partying in spite of lock downs? Well have we got the deal for you! State of NY has new fabulous 3 week cruises, free drinks included(with covid19). Make sure to kiss all your friends and strangers, in fact kiss everyone on board"

Why are you dragging Orange Man Bad derangement rhetoric into this discussion?
no excuse, the US could have pulled this off, they had extra time and have many large pharma companies.
Like what, a month? And Pharma with mainly HQs, labs and and sales teams here? The factories aren’t here, thanks to 30 years of offshoring mostly to China.
How many drug or equipment factories can you build in a month? basically none, certainly not a state of the art one.

If you are into president blame, who got that offshoring going? (in the 1990’s).
Also you know about TPP, right? The treaty that saw China buy/build Italian factories and bring in 300,000 chinese workers...
Has that gone well? Don’t think so.
Come to think of it there was a President that wanted that TPP treaty adopted by US, who could he be?
Oh right, it was Mr “you can keep your doctor” himself.
Your hated Orange Man put a stop to that, so maybe he isn’t that bad.
Instead we have a president who initially called everything a hoax
He called media coverage and political weaponization of the epidemic a hoax. Putting all blame on him definitely is a hoax, it has to do with history and the whole world, not one guy you dislike.

By the way there was another president in between there somewhere who to my knowledge did little if anything to help with these issues. Oh yeah, the war on terrorism guy. Bush. Can’t let him skate can you? I can’t either. All share responsibility in a problem that was a long time coming.
and now we're playing catchup and we have unnecessary deaths
.
After 30 years of policies from both ends of the political spectrum that set us up to be vulnerable. Yes it sucks.

You can’t honestly put it on one person, it’s the whole
Globalized, politics and quarterly profit first mentality that needs revision. Countries need to have domestic production in balance with international trade, or else a hell of a stockpile. This is obvious and is true for any government, from a monarchy to socialism to a democracy or any other thing.

Exactly...all the libtards want to blame Trump...the same people who called him a racist when he stopped flights from China in late January. we should all be blaming China and their filthy wet markets with zero regard for health and disease. Then they lie about it, shut down social media, and whistleblowers. It was not till feb14th they disclosed it was human to human and they had many healthcare folks getting sick....then the little pricks try to blame the US.... sorry but we should all be blaming China...

Amazing, all this finger pointing. Both Europe and the US had warning. Both seem to be doing worse than China and Europe at least so far, worse than the US. Not even talking about South Korea, etc. So no 10 out of 10, no great people, no great prime ministers. "We" should all be looking at ourselves.

Europe seems to be doing even worse than Trump land. So far at least. In the end that's (total number or percentage of dead ?) what will count most as far as I am concerned. And it looks like the "Asian" response will turn out to have been the best. Not the European or the American. There have been no surprises, we have all known what the Chinese are rumoured to eat, Trump hasn't acted in a surprising way, so why blame anybody but ourselves for obviously being so vulnerable to them ?

Yeah Matty c'mon, every single problem humanity has ever faced is Trumps fault. Some bloke backed into my truck the other day... this would never of happened if that orange b**tard didn't get voted in 4 years ago! If in doubt blame Trump, if that fails just start firing the 'r' word about... usually seems to do the trick. :thumb:

Chinese people suffered terribly in the 20th Century with widespread starvation and surpression. They probably had to eat just about anything to stay alive. I do think that the eating of strange animals should be discouraged around the world. Having been to China twice I must admit there is some kind of status involved in eating weird food there, although I did eat some pretty weird stuff there which was very nice.

But that said you could argue that the world would be a much healthier place if everyone was vegetarian - although I don't intend on leading the way on that :D
