Duotone ClickBar Size

Postby Alpa3094 » Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:39 am

Hi Guys,

I am gonna buying a Duotone clickbar 2019 in order to flying my Neo 8 and Evo 11 kites . I am 65 kilos and I don't know if I should buy 20-22m lines clickbar or 22-24. Also I have only 3 years experience and trying new tricks (medium jumps, backrolls etc).

Which one to choose ?

If you search for Ralf Grosels blog he recommends that you go with the small bar for sizes 8 and below. The Neo is a size larger in design and I'd go with the medium 22-24 for your quiver.

The small click bar was really nice on 9m and smaller. If you can have only one bar I'd take the normal one and use 22m lines unless it is light.

That is not true. It says: I highly recommend the following rules for all kite models:

Use the small bar on kites 4m² to 10m². Use the wider bar on kites 11m² to 17m². Since the wider bar also comes with 2m longer lines than the small bar, the low-wind abilities are noticeably improved. In my eyes, a 49cm bar should not be flown with an 8m² kite as the steering input and precision is not on the same handling level as it would be on the 42cm version.

Go for the bigger bar. I use all my Neos with 24m all the time even on the 6m.
24m gives you a better lowend as well. You can always take off extensions and bring it to 22m if winds pick up or you want your bigger kite turning faster...

Yep pretty much what I said as a rule of thumb, medium is still the right choice considering its probably not for unhooked freestyle.

Yes , that is that I thought . However , previously I was using the North quad bar of 2017 with 22m lines for my North Evo 11 of 2018.

Thank you a lot for your answer . Do you know which was the bar length of North Quad Bar 2017 S/M since it was my previous bar ?

So which bar do you recommend?

I'd go with the medium 49 if you want the click bar, the small trust (quad) bar is 42-49 which is ideal.

As said by Rolf, the Neo's will fly better on the 49.

If you can only have one bar take the big one. I don't think it is true that the Neo flies better on the big bar. I prefered the small bar on the 6 and 8m Neo and liked it on the 10m but prefer the big one on that size. On the 9m rebel I could do the big or small bar was both good, on the 8 and 9m Dice I prefer the small bar, on the 12m Evo I prefer the big bar. Line length I'll always prefer 22m unless I have to put the extension on it because it is light.
