Duotone Mono 2020

dt 1.png

New for this year is the use of lightweight 140g Dacron material, alongside a double rip stop canopy material and redesigned construction details for a maximum saving of weight. These materials enhance the handling of the kite in ways never thought possible. While the general design approach has remained the same, the kite is radically different to last year’s model. The lower weight ensures unrivalled drifting abilities, more dynamic handling, a near-mystical ability to stay in the air in the lulls and improved power from a faster upstroke. Finally, the relaunch of the kite is much easier too; it’s so light that the slightest of puffs of wind will see it rising back into the sky. If you want a light kite for travelling, this is it, if you want a dynamic kite with an incredible low end for foiling, step right up, if you are just starting your kiting journey and want an easy to fly, forgiving kite, look no further. If wave riding sets your heart on fire, the Mono will happily stoke the flames especially in light winds, or perhaps freeride is your game, you’ll enjoy the constant pull and smooth power delivery. The Mono may be defined as a one-strut kite, but it is so much more than that, take one for a spin and find out what it is all about!

The new surfboards in the clip look nice. Seems like the Pro Voke had some design changes. Maybe more towards the Whip?

Oh I am sorry you want me to convince you why it is like that? Don't worry just keep handing over the extra dough to the kite brands then. I think they are certain you won't work it out on your own, otherwise they wouldn't make them, cause they wouldn't sell them.

Nice kites you have by the why, but with them why do you need a surfboard?

Interesting that duotone uses the 2x2 ripstop versus 3x2. Suspect the juice does the same?

Mono has progressed from a fairly heavy one strut to one of the lightest one struts in two years.

I think the red and blue are the best colors this year, thankfully no light gray. The mono seems to be a darker red and blue than the other 2020 duotones.

All the duotone kites look good in the air this year.

I do find the kite size hard to read and I think the arrow in the d should point forward.

Rip stop variations are pure gimmicks.
