Spending weekends and weeks on water. Traveling to ride. Twintipping, riding a kitesurfboard then a door, foiling. large kites, small kites. 7 knots. 50 knots. Boosting 40+ feet, doing a huge downwinder, going as fast as you can. being on a kite trip with so different, yet so likeminded people. Taking turns cooking breakfasts and dinners. Beers on a balcony watching sun go down. Attaching 2 AAA flashlight to front pigtails and riding in pitch black when water feels like black oil, with board spray colored by another flashlight. Optimizing your quiver. Being able to pack tight for travel and still bringing all you want. First on water. Last on water.
Everyone has their own life. Kitelife is cool. It's my life. I love it.
lol sorry but skateboarding does not come remotley close to kiting...But then again hanging around a filthy graffiti filled skatepark with a bunch of stoners must be awesome..lol

If you are interested in being cool, go skating or surfing or snowboarding or whatever 14 year-old punks are into. Most kiters could care less about what other people think. IMHO, that is cool.
dont like that video much. too much talking. I could watch deca 2nd to none from 2001 all day but had to fast foward the above video. kiteboarding is actually more visually appealing than skateboarding and some of the videos out there blow my mind. the movies by andy gordon and aaron hadlow are so good, calibrate aspire, revolve, invent, then there are the lenten videos stormsjees to mention a few. There should be love between skaters and kiters, not rivalry. Both sports have amazing videos amazing riders great tricks and best of all anyone can kite anyone can skateboard.
