If it’s directly onshore body drag out further than you usually do & further than you think you need to. Then have fun.

No, I’m not suggesting you have to agree with anyone, or you can’t debate or even argue. Simply suggesting we try as much as possible to remain civil and make an effort to refrain from personal attacks.

A dream that would come true and make my life easier.

This forum is here to help fellow kiters and not to piss them off.

My country ( Greece) is on official lock down since morning. You can only go out if it's really important and justified

I think Kite boarding is a serious enough reason to go out... Mostly for mental health reasons!

Anyway I am still a newbie, it's still winter and I don't think I will manage to drive the 2 hours it takes to go to the usual kite beach because of the travel restrictions...

So my plan is to drive to a much closer beach with a non kiter friend who will assist me with launching and landing...

People do kite on this beach sometimes but it's not a first choice especially for newbies. Wind prediction for tomorrow is about 17kts direct onshore.

I am really not sure if I will even manage to kite because of first time on the spot , onshore wind etc but if there will be no rain I am going to try!

Wish me luck and share any tips for onshore conditions!

I would say, be careful. I don’t know your conditions or beach.

Be very aware of what is directly down wind of you when you launch and land. The more space the better.

Be prepared to release your safety, practice it before you launch.

Winter is often gusty, double check the weather and if there is weather radar in the area check it out. Use your eyes and look at the sky. Don’t go out if a squall is coming in.

Onshore winds can have a lot of lift, be aware of potential lofting, keep kite to the side.

The good news is if you get out and anything goes wrong you blow back into shore.

Be safe!

Here our police (Spain) don't share you view "I think Kite boarding is a serious enough reason to go out" BIG fine or prison.Personally I would oblige offenders to work in one of the many busy morgues, help take your mind off kitesurfing

I'm quite surprised by economic downturn. I'm doing what I've done before, but WFH.
No big changes.
Never went to pubs, bars, restaurants before. Before this I've not gone out and hang out in the city or anywhere crowded ( dislike crowds). I work, kitesurf mostly alone, ride my road bicycle alone. Work in my shop. Hang out with my small family. Have a few friends I spend time with but we've been careful about full disclosure on health and contacts.
I've always been restrictive on hugging, air kissing and try to avoid shaking hands. ( Ok, I'm a bit on the spectrum)
Apparently, I'm in a minority that has this behavior as standard.
Maybe it's the new normal.

Victim culture is ruining the world.

Just wait till you are real victims. Economy ruined, because the old in charge are trying to save themselves from the latest Chinese Virus.
