Hi everyone, new to the forum, since I am in lockdown in Spain, it's time to get stuff fixed.
My redline on the bar seems to have a bungee bit that is broken (see pictures), after looking at it it seems that it's just to keep the line tensioned but it should be safe to ride as it is and the strength of the line is not compromised.
I am going to cut off the bit sticking out to prevent it from jamming anything, if I don't replace it
In case this is not known: The red line is the safety line conexion
What are your thoughts?
Thanks
Igi

From the photos your assessment seems correct and you rightly point out the most important point regarding the risk is jamming. If you want to avoid the line sag you could use the broken bungie to pull a new piece off bungie through. If the old Bungie is still springy you could stretch it and sow the bottom end in place and reinsert the tail. The dyneema looks ok to me.
As an aside, my mind set for mini 5th or front flagging line failure other, than complete release, is to walk the front lines on landing or pull in lots of front line if I need to flag in the water.
Regards Herman
PS in my experience flagging lines usually fail just above the chicken loop, not sure that section is shown in photos and so make sure that does not look much worse than what you have shown.

I always thought the rp bar bungee was kind of sticky anyway.
I notice the duotone trust bar doesn’t have a bungee and the ‘redline’ is sized so it is tight on full power but just flops around when you depower.
So if you are really bored and doubt the line, you could replace it and not have a bungee
Good luck!

Hi everyone, I am just getting rid of the bungee, and then to wait for the lockdown in Spain to be over so I can get back in the water
Thanks for the input!

I used Naish bungee as replacement.
