Reedin Phoenix. Born again

Reedin Phoenix kite

There's nothing like an old friend. The one you meet after years apart and start talking as if you have had lunch together a week ago. The one who lives in memory and puts a smile on your face remembering crazy stories you both were part of. The stories which became your legacy. Your fame. Your core. The things you did and place you've been to.

Damien and Kevin have been part of such friendship, of that ultimate legacy and they will forever be, so a generous gift from Robby is one they well deserved. The famous Helix kite rights have been released to Reedin kites and we shall celebrate the bird which is reborn again, up and alive from ashes, the design that boomeranged back to its creator:

The Phoenix - Sigma shaped, second model from Reedin is a wing any newschool rider will recognize, a kite so distinct - a new rider would see it once and remember forever. Reborn for riders who know damn well that a fifth line makes kite ride right, for riders who know how exquisite and mastered squid inflation system is. For riders who know how to unhook, who know how to boost to the stars, who truly shine with their skills. A kite to want and a kite to never sell.

Because friends and legacy are forever!

what was good with Helix? I thought it is created to overcome patents. and when it did not work- dropped. Or was it any good?

Nice one!
Though... my first kites were Bolts... nothing like having a "bat-like" kite above one's head ;)

Less LE area to glue to water in relaunch. Gull shaped wings are aerodynamically superior. Also 5th line is making its comeback.

Using the superior sigma shape is the first step in merging kite and wing designs. Most of the big brands are working on this new concept.
Great to see a new brand being one of the first :thumb:

That sounds very interesting! Let's hope Damien and Kevin will develop sigma concept to a new level - even though they were great kites under Naish brand. But not with octopus, please!

I agree with the fifth line, it really makes the difference. High Y is also needed for front lines because it gives even more high end, control is so much better.

I am looking forward for a wave foiling version of Phoenix: a strutless 5-line sigma shape kite is something we haven't seen yet.

My first design of the new concept:

April 1st ?

Naish Helix was probably my favourite kite, seemed fast in a straight line, and incredibly stable.

if it's not an April Fool, it would be great to see Reedin evolve the design.
