Having a standard is the right step forward.

Now can we agree on colors too ?

Break lights on cars are all the same color too...
Yet I love rear red turn signals on mine :)

For the correct bar orientation, the Core Sensor3 has only one color on only one end of the bar (no other colors on the other end to confuse with what color needs to be in which hand). The color happens to be on the left hand and in bright yellow (with SENSOR printed on this side). The Core logo in the center of the bar too.

In the wrong orientation, the back side of the bar has the word STOP in red in the center and a red line running the width of the bar. No colored end under the left hand.

Smart, anyone (color blind too) should be able to quickly and easily determine the correct orientation of the bar.

I like the core bar above

But they also make this bar. With white on the left.

And just to confuse you this bar with white on the right

Definetely the color code on Core Bars is their achilles heel. I really think is absurd the idea of style first, safety second. And i am a big fan of Core.

Yellow / Orange and Blue should work fine. Black / white should be fine too. Mine is orange /black.

And I agree on finding a standard for the loops / knots.

Actually, I think the stop mark is more important.

Knowing the is turned the wrong way is faster than knowing red on left is the correct way.

But, sometimes you won’t see that part of the bar when crashed or pulled they water...so it should be red on left swimmer as well...that part is more visible.

Thoughts ?

And they BOTH have the red STOP, front and dead centre to warn muppets that probably wouldn't know what a colour on one side of a bar meant, like the fools that don't now the difference or the colour coding even for Port and Starboard.

Not sure if I would call it a milestone 15 years too late. I am not aware of any shitty QR nowadays as the merket took care of that.

My experience is the the float is the most important part. It is the most visible. I have bars with different markings front and back and it isn’t that obvious. Words don’t work so well either at least for my brain.

I also like that I can spot someone holding the bar wrong when I am launching or on the beach at some distance.

I would say the float and grip should be 90% red, orange, yellow or white on the left And the right should 90% some other other color besides those four, black, blue, but not green,

There should be some distinguishing feature graphic.color for front and back on the bar.

That can’t be that hard? Plenty of creativity left to the graphic artists and company to distinguish things.

Companies already do this.

And we should extend this color coding to leader lines right up to the bridle connection.

And the same knot and loop connection for all kites.

Come on GKA. Come on kite companies.
