Hi Evan,
Why is this better than the original version of attaching the flagaut line? It seems pefectly fine to me the way it was, or am i missing something? Thanks!

How is the flagout line anchored inside the QR? I removed the flagout line from the QR to measure the rope length but now don't remember how it was attached ...
Discovered a new way for the flagout recently. You loop it around the claw closest to the hole it goes through. It also functions as a stopper for the qr housing so you can't push it too far up.
OK, I'll do that, thanks.

That's what I thought of doing but didn't think of moving the bungee over the line - good idea.

Whit some the line can get jammed between the Swivel and claws making the unloaded opening a bit harder. With the new way this can not happen anymore.

I don't own this QR but following closely, I'm so impressed with Evan's responsiveness on this forum.

Evan,

I'm new to foil racing, and just started using a race bar with a depower line that ends in a ring below the bar. This connects to a Wichard, which remains permanently attached to my harness, using Dyneema. Leash is only there for accidental release of Wichard to avoid loss of kite, no flag out line.

Two issues with this for me at the moment - releasing in emergency Finding the little string on a Wichard in an emergency is likely to be impossible. Your QR looks to solve this perfectly.

The second issue I am having is to do with front lines twisting after kite loops. My leash presently connects from my seat harness to the depower ring, therefore above the Wichard. Every time the kite loops, to untwist the lines means twisting the depower ring below the bar, which in turn means the safety leash wraps around lines. Multiple loops in same direction, and the leash effectively prevents untwisting the lines.

I'm trying to understand how your QR will solve this, if at all. Can you give me your thoughts please? If the leash is still connected to the depower line ring below the bar, I think there will still be this issue with the leash gradually wrapping around the everything.

Am I missing something in the set up?

thanks

@Aspiremr,
Not Evan ... but I think I can answer your question.
The seatbelt quick release has a leash anchor point on the main body on the kite side of the swivel, so you attach the end of your leash that is currently attached to your harness, to the marked SS ring.

Thus the leash should no longer get wrapped around the depower line when the kite is looped.
Hope this is clear?

I just love the design and function of the infexion QR.
Just one question. If you tetherlaunch you want to conect as quick as possible. The Infexion qr seems perfect for that, except for the small fiddly safety leash.

Is i stupid to have a hook in the end of the leash, like most leashes have.
The connection time will be reduced and it will be less risk of making mistakes in the launching procedure.

@andersp, just take a standard short leash and attach to ring on QR (instead of your harness) and then attach clasp/hook to flag ring.

Thanks Faklord,

I think that is clear. Hence the micro-leash that is also available?

So rather than have a leash to my harness, the micro-leash runs from that loop you circled, to the ring at the end of the kite depower / front lines. Each time I loop, the micro-leash rotates with the entire quick release mecahnism to untwist the front lines.

If I’ve got that right, then it is perfect.

Thanks
MR
