Congrats to Evan who supplied about 10 releases to Australia Perth racers!

Indeed a top quality product! Shame, Im not the one who ordered, but might in a due course.

Well done!

Just pulled some pictures out of my archive, keep forgetting to make new ones...

It is just a loop of sk99 500 with two interlocking loops where the thickened flagout line sits underneath as the loops get pulled tight under tension but still allow the power lines to flagout easily. Makes a simple lightweight and low wear solution for the line organizer / bracket without any metal parts.

The loop on the flagout line needs to be with a spliced line line through the loop for the added thickness to make sure the rope can't be flattened and pull through the hole.
It needs a qr/chickenloop with at least an 8mm hole to pass through freely, won't work on Cabrinha, Duotone, Fone and others with only 4-6mm holes for the flagout line.

I hope I can make time to post more info about the bar as soon as possible.

great, they finally arrived! Shipping outside Europe sadly takes a lot longer these days...

Some more pictures I could quickly find on my phone.

There will be 3 versions
- Freeride bar with a 80cm depower cord, adjustable stopper and backline trim
- Freerace / training bar with bigger cleat, trim line, backline trim or leader lines with balls to grab for relaunch.
- Competition bar with a tiny cleat and minimalistic design for lower drag.

Race bars can be fitted with an, 60 or 80cm depower cord. Cleat can be set to any position at the expense of available trim length.

For the freeride bars there is also a bigger barend as the small version only has room for maximum 18m lines depending on bar width and line thickness.

The bar floats and you can change the sacrificial soft plastic hole-insert without disassembling the depower or other parts of the bar!

Standard sizes we (try to ;) ) keep in stock are 45-50-55-60-65cm but any size is possible if you need a custom length. Same applies for the lines, as everything is produced in house we can build the bar exactly to your needs. But that also means that production capacity is limited.

Wondering about the swivel in the release. I thought at one point you were making one with nylon bearings so no corrosion issues. Any word on that? I ride is salt water and I don't have a great option to rinse at the beach -- and will never remember to do it when I get home.

Sorry, didn't find a better solution yet. A small bottle of water is enough to rinse and otherwise you can go for the standard version as those also spin quite effortless, although not automatic. A good spray with a can of silicone lubricant after each session can also get rid of the salt water.

But rinsing should be standard practice as eventually every stainless steel parts will rust when left damp from salty water in your car after each session as drying salt water will give the leftover droplets a very high concentration that sadly collects inside the ball bearing and other small gaps.

You make a great point - used silicone spray for years when sailing dinghies but somehow never carried that over to kiteboarding. I will now!

Your spliced attachment for the front lines and single line flagout is ingenious - I hope you are considering patenting it! Would you mind if I took it as a splicing challenge to try to duplicate it? If I do, one concern I have is if the stopper knot could jam in the interlocked loop under extreme conditions, and the kite would not flagout properly? I sure you have the right testing and quality control on your end, I am thinking that a micro stopper ball would add a lot of robustness to my attempt?

Congrats Evan. The interlocking loop is a clever and interesting development in a tricky area. It looks like it would hold its position when slack much better than the alternative thimble and stopper ball. Have you had chance to evaluate how much friction there is when flagging after it has sat with tension for a few sessions?

Dear Evan - thanks and this is indeed a very interesting solution. However, I can''t see from the picture how the two interlocking loops have been created. Is there a video / drawing with more details? I have received your quick release and just tested it. - Tom
