:thumb: Tooless depower line change....another benefit of the infection QR
Well, I had that with my older Ozone megatron + AeroCleat setup, and that didn't require any splicing anywhere. And before replacing the depower line, I could just shift it down by about 20cm to remove the lower part of the rope worn by the bar friction. Therefore getting twice the life out of a 2m length. Could repeat that even more with a longer one, but I don't want to have too much dangling out of the cleat initially.

Anyway, I'm keen to stick to that simplicity, and my slipping knots suggested above won't slip further than the stopper knot, so I think it'll do the job just fine. Using the option from 2nd picture, but with only one half hitch and a stopper knot to stop any further slipping at that hitch. That'll keep that stopper knot out of the way of the flag line.

If in doubt, to prevent the possibility of a knot slipping just put a few stitches of whipping twine through the knot. I use Marlow Ropes No 4 whipping twine.

You can also unbraid some old kite line and use one of the bundles as whipping. That way you have the same material running through the knot, instead of dissimilar materials.

It's better to use dissimilar coloured materials because if you want to undo the knot it's easier to identify the stitches to cut with (for example) nail scissors.

I'm not a fan of the idea to use Dyneema (especially used, with little coating left) for a whipping or hand stitching line. A waxed polyester whipping line has a much better grip.

P.S.
Is this whole discussion about how to avoid making a basic spliced loop?!
Takes less than a minute and can be done with bare hands. OK, appropriate scissors and a lighter is all that's needed.

How do you make a spiced loop without a fid or wire? Are you doing a bury?

With a depower line it's easy - cut it at an angle, burn/melt the tip and after the splice is ready cut off the melted part and taper. But with any thin wire it's easier.

Please post a video of the above technique.

For " no hassle click- in" esp when sitting on the foilboard and making some drift starts with the foilkite , when the resetting of the ring into the Seatbelt QR has to be quick, i made these blocks of two 1cm cutting boards. I mainly used a forestry drill and Dremel.
Now I can grab with gloves and insert the ring without any effort :thumb:

Anyone know the backorder time right now? Just ordered a BB QR and wondering the time frame. Thanks
