Just imagine all the new big air / megaloop stunts involving a large and well visible real time display and fully functioning smartphone!... Megaloop board off "Siri/Alexa, tell my wife I'll be late today"

Oh, and if online it could also show (in different colours) the real time results of your buddies around you or the highest/longest jump at that spot...

Shark and bad weather warnings

And much more

would you be able to implement in the APP a weather forecast feed ?

Meaning when posting a session instead of having to publish myself "25kts northeast" a screenshot of windy or wind guru could be automatically added" ?

That would also help to avoid fake jump data in the leaderboard due the measuring error. Like the 25m jumps in 15kts that i noticed in other app...

Holy shit - you buying a gold apple watch or something? LOL A new series 3 Apple iWatch is $199. It has GPS so you get speeds, map and jumps with the sessions app which is free. Instead of the $700+$400=$1100 it actually costs you $199 to do what you want. :thumb:
A series 3 watch with GPS and cellular is $550 here. I also don't own a Woo.

Buy a nice lightweight board and then mount your phone on it

Wow. This sounds really great, using a smartphone instead of specific device is a great move. As somebody who has owned a Woo and Xensr, both of which didn't last much more than a year before breaking, (water or battery issues), its a great option, and opens up so many other possibilities. My only initial worry was the size of the mount, if it fits the largest smartphones it must be fairly chunky, and I'm not in love with sticking something big, to my mint condition sexy carbon board, especially as I have a relatively small phone.

But as your main thing is the app, then presumably one could make / buy a smaller mount, and the app would still work as expected?

Great job, really excited to see the app in action.

Also for comedy value, can you please share a photo of your test board with ""... about 2-4 phones on the board, 2 WOO 3’s and 1 PIQ..."" that sounds cluttered!

If you have handle on your board you could use bicycle waterproof (real waterproof, not just splashproof) phone mount attached to handle to test the concept and widen mount options. If phone itself is not water proof maybe you could put it into additional water tight transparent bag.

Good idea, will definitely look into that when the app is live. Though as a 3D designer I was really thinking of designing a printable mount for my phone that has screw holes that line up with my board handle holes.

I already have lots of waterproofing for my phone as I often kite alone and like to have it on on me for security, and to let my wife know if I'm going to be later than anticipated.

Does the mount have to be on the board?
How about in the lines just above the adjuster like those GoPro mounts? Would be close to your face for better visibility.

If it is somewhere on the body there is a lot of dampening (from the legs for example) and the forces are not transferred correctly to the device sensors, the same with the bar, that is why it is best to have it on the board where the device can get the most correct data for the calculations to work.

Hahaha can't believe thats a good set up...Sinussing your way through a low wind day and afterwards having lots of jumps! It needs to be on the board to detect a jump/or leaving the water, no dampening of any shocks.
