Hi all, I'm about to move to Comox, British Columbia in Canada, placed in Vancouver Island, for work reasons.
How about kite there? Spots? It's windy? Any info would be ok.
Thanks you guys

Two resources:
1.

2.

I don't live there, but do visit occasionally. Can get pretty good in the south-east gales in winter, just need a good wetsuit/drysuit. Summer I think it's a little iffy, kiters mostly drive elsewhere on the island.
Nice place to live too if you like winter sports (Mt Washington nearby) and I hear the mtn biking is good. Good fishing nearby too.
PS and pretty much the best kite repair shop I know of, CKR Kiteboarding
Joking around but only by half, GregK really is a wizard.

Comox is a nice place and has some great kiting outside of summer.
During summer you have some okay options:
1) Port Alberni: 1:20 drive
2) China Creek: 1:40 drive (camping available)
3) Nitinat Lake: 2:55 drive (camping available)
4) Tofino: 3:00 drive (camping available)
5) Nipkish Lake: 2:30 drive (camping available)

Search the Comox Spit. I spent two weeks there in the summer at cadet camp as a kid, it felt like it blew most afternoons. You will have good options!
