A friend just got some new gear from Takoon.
He has a problem with the steering lines, after about 5 sessions. Bought everything
brand new. kite, bar/lines , board , harness
Just wondered if anyone else experienced the same problem with their gear, and lines in particular.

I have owned takoon gear and had a very good experience with customer service, just contact them they will do something especially that your gear is new.
It is hard to see in the pic, is it a splice coming apart or a line getting damaged in the middle ? are you sure you did not scrape it off anything sharp like a rock etc ?

They look abraded by rubbing/cutting on a rough surface. Lines are strong but fragile to abrasion.
If production defect, lame.
But that might show before 5 sessions?
Experienced kiter or new kiter?

Wasn’t me flying.
I was kiting with the guy. He did crash the kite , but other than that I didn’t see him scrape lines on anything.
As stated earlier , brand new equipment.
He has been in contact with them, gonna get them to send another bar.
Not sure how much he will pay.

He knows how to kite.
I told him try the replacement, and if it happen again to make his own line set with better quality lines.
The lines feel kinda strange, bit of a plastic feel to it rather than fibre like dyneema.

My Takoon Skoops were the bomb like 17 years ago if my memory serves me right... apart from that nothing to add
