If the valve leaks, the trick is to take a stick and with the kite inflated, poke the valve. This will clear any debris that gets caught between the valve flap and the hard plastic.
The guys at exotikite in Mexico showed me that trick.
Not a bad idea. That should give it a reasonable amount of pressure to blow it out. Thanks.

Unfortunately not. I searched for Duotone SLS in google and found this broken link. Fortunately google stores pages in its cache but the document is all messed up and without any images. Still a lot of interesting news in there! I'm specially looking forward to those new lines so I can finally substitute my old bar.

For the new SLS Kites, Duotone says :
5 times more resistant
50% less stretch
15% lighter
The Rebel also seems to have a"new" design, but without the SLS label.

Argh!! Whats wrong with me? I look at the Ocean Rodeo Aluula kites and think - maybe in a couple of years.... I look at the Duotone equivalents and think - I really fancy the look of that Evo
I'm off to cut up my credit cards before I fill up the space in my garage.

Is the Penta TX cloth same as aluula? Or something different?

Funny thing with all these "new kites" is that it kind of makes me less likely to buy new ones right now - for the fear of what I might be missing out on something. Spending somewhere around €1000 more for these new materials per kite when potentially buying 3 isn't happening.
But really positive that it seems like there might be more of a push than ever before to come up with something new that is actually new (maybe that is just an illusion - not sure).

The name suggested (at least to me) a 5-ripstop polyester cloth, but since it apparently replaces the dacron I'm not too sure anymore. The leaked document is talking about LE and center strut material.
Wasn't Aluula exclusive for Ocean Rodeo for a little while? I don't think you're allowed to rename the stuff. So Penta might be something similar, but not exactly the same.
I wish they would cut the marketing mumbo jumbo crap and just be clear.

Don't think it's Aluula, looks like a marketing term for yet another Teijin product.
There was D2 (2) dacron
Then there was Trinity (3) dacron
Then there was Quad (4) dacron
Now there is Penta (5) dacron
Can't wait for Sexa (6) dacron

I asked myself the same question.
I recall in the podcast with Adrian Kerr and the founder of Ocean Rodeo, where he said that Ocean Rodeo helped developing the Aluula material (and partially owns the company), but they didn't have and exclusivity agreement. So any brand could start working with them.
The characteristic of the product seems really close (15% total kite weight reduction for the EVO (21% for the Roam 10)), more stiffness, less stretch...
It would be a strong coincidence that two companies developed a very similar material at almost the same time, but who knows. We need more information from Duotone.
