Mr Kehler... we need a chat  If I have this correct and you are asking about the best ever unhooked freestyle C kite :thumb: then definitely 9, 11 and 14m. The 11m and 14m Torch's are very different, at 66kg the 14m would be perfect unhooked from 11/12mph to 20mph, the 11m comes alive from 18mph

ps. the 11m 2019 Torch is sublime :thumb: or are you asking about the Dash ? If it's the Dash then 11m & 14m combo works well too. People may question me recommending a 14m Torch at 66kgs, however I believe you are riding a freesyle board (Naish Stomp ?) with boots so will hold more power. The 14m Torch is a great great kite, and has remarkable low end if you know how to work the power from it.

Hi Billy.
I’m doing the dash now but missing the feeling of the torch. I’m only doing unhooked and here the dash feels like it’s disappearing between your hands, it’s way harder to feel where it is under the unhooked trick.

So I’m going to get a quiver of torch. And here I can listen to you guys, that the 14-11-9 is best suited.

Can you feel the torch is better Than the 2017/1208 torch model?

Hi Kehler - I have never flown the 2017 or 2018 Torch, these were bad years for the Torch, everyone that owned a 2017/18 said they were very poor low end. The 2019 has great low end, just like my old 2016 Torch, I can't fault it. Unhooked it's the perfect kite, sits there stable as and never backstalls. The 2019 has that incredible unhooked pop, like getting shot out of a cannon. The 11m gives you a good work out but that's what I love about the Torch. I also have a 9m, 11m and 14m Dash. I like the Dash for high wind big airs, definitely more float than the Torch. Unhooked the Torch is way way better, Ewan Jaspan picks the Torch for freestlye competitions over the Dash, check Christophe Tack's videos of some impressive Torch riding.

My bad....didn't read your previous posts......just your profile that says ss gear. I concur with billygg on a 14 with boots at 66kg on your torches. He obviously is the correct person to give advice with same kit you ride but completely wrong about the best c kite ever made 🤣 .......
You must be a young gun pushing your wakestyle but just get a surfboard to mix it up when your body feels battered....you'll appreciate in time.....

Hi Billy. I agree on the 2016 had good power. I ended up taking 2020 torch 9-11-14.

Thanks.

Hi Kehler - Great purchase, you will love them. I'm just back from a freestyle session on my 11m 2019 Torch and it's brilliant, so much better than the Dash unhooked. The pop and slack from the Torch is sublime, I just can't get that feeling from the Dash. To get the best unhooked pop on the Dash you need the kite really low, the Dash just can not come close. The 2020 Naish Torch bar is great but has an issue in that the chicken loop does not self right, you often need to guide it back into the chicken loop with your hand. The older bars which did not have the spinning chicken loop never suffered this issue.

Please update us on the 2020 Torch, it looks like it has the classic outline of the 2016 Torch's and square wing tips.
