Douton whip pro vs whip, is there a difference?

Postby Gil 00 » Fri Jun 12, 2020 4:21 pm

Hi

What is the difference between the whip and whip pro

I know that the mattirels are different and that u can attach straps to the whip

Is the pro version worth the extra money?

Tnx!!!

The extra $$$ goes towards a board that will feel (flex) more like a traditional surfboard and will be lighter weight due to not having strap inserts and reinforcement. Less weight makes it more playful in the waves and is better for strapless freestyle.
If you plan to ride 100% strapless, imo I think it's worth the extra $$$. :thumb:

I have a Duotone Pro Whip. It is a very easy board and very light. Happy with its behaviour on the water. But you have to be very cautious as any impact on the board will leave a trace or even a small hole.
Another thing I don't like is the specific fixation for the fins. It is said to be a future box, but the screws are sideways and not at the end of the box. Therefore if, like me, you loose a fin, you have to buy a compatible replacement.
Next time, I'll probably buy a board with FCS box.

I am definitely not a expert in regards surfboards but I recently bought a regular whip from a Duotone Store.

I was advised by the shop assistant who seemed to know his stuff to go for a regular construction for my first board as it has strap inserts and is a stronger build than that of the pro construction 👍 the weight is the downside. Can say I will ever notice the heavier weight to be honest.

I am very happy with the whip 😁 I now prefer it to the TT. A couple of seasoned riders have tried it and were very impressed. One has ever bought one.
