Any steady/non-gusty wind up to 25 knots. Usually at my locations anything over 25 is gusty and you get yanked a lot. Not fun at all but we all ride in tropical storms just to say we did.

These are the magic days for me. 25-35 knots. They have been some of the best days I have had on this planet.

As well as strong wind I also want cross on to cross off and the sea condition to be blazing 3-5m swell. That is where the holy grail of kitesurfing is for me.
Epic days indeed, that really show kiting's true potential. 5-6m and surfboard in monster rideable swell, or 7-8m kicker-boost and loop weather. Basically Cape Town at its finest. Although other conditions can definitely create "one for the books" as well - 12-15 knots and small but clean swell on the foil, or steady 18 knots on the 9m onestrut in clean waves (Mauritius hmmmmmmm)... 25 knots and 2.5m swell but what is even more important for me is that it isn't crowded. Good group of 5-10 people (instead of 100) spreading good vibes and I take any wind that works.

25-35kn. Can't wait for the late winter storms to roll in and hit the western beaches. So much fun.

You don't use knots to measure windspeed?
40knots on a 9m is pretty crazy. I stop at 35knots with 8m dice.

My favourite windrange is 25-30knots and not gusty at all.
