You always have to think both ways; what impulse comes from the bar and what impulse comes from the kite.
Bar development is rocket science, trust me, working 15 years + in the game....it is!
Good bar feeling over a big wind range / kite range is rocket science, 100% !!!

Endcap/ winder geometry is super relevant, lines are relevant, bridle geometry is relevant, kite materials are relevant, every fuckin´detailsis relevant!
Funny that some people think it is so simple.... it is NOT!

There are always pros and cons on every system, but thinking the Y geometry is not a key feature for the whole design is plain stupid!
... yep, I agree,,,,geometry is everything and oh sooooo relevant!

If the original posters wife notices it,,, give her props as she is a discerning kiter who can feel the differences,,,, well done I say.

Surely the designer of a kite has been using his bar and his bar has a Y point 53.67% from the kite then that's what the kite will fly best at,,,, as intended by the designer. (just making this numbers up btw). Not what some other kite designers bar is. Keep the geometry as the designer intended and the kite will fly at is best,,,,, full stop.

I've been saying this for years and far too many smart people seem to not get this.

While I'm at it....... lines don't stretch,,,, they shrink over time. Kite lines shrink and so to bridle lines. If ya kites not flying well and you know your bar is fine,,,, it will surely be the bridle.

Anyway, I'm with Windwarrior on this one 100%

Cheers,

Robbie :D

So true
They have that 6th sense
They know instantly and don't feel the need to figure out why
I trust my wife who's been kitesurfing since 2002
If she says something is crap for her...it is
If she says something works better for her...it does
Simple
I make her happy and just buy it

Having a kiting wife is priceless

... kiting wifes are absolutely priceless,,,,, there's no more bargaining on holiday locations anymore, it's.... 'wheres the wind going to blow that time of year'. And birthday gifts of a new 7m aren't met with "wtf is that", or "how much did that cost",,,, rather,,, 'how awesome,,,how did you know I wanted a new 7,,,, love you"!

My wife was not technical at all when it came to kiting,,,, she knew that it was right or it wasn't right. She borrowed a friends 12m once. I asked "how was it", and she said there was something wrong with it. Hmmmm, mate and I pontificated all the technical stuff and concluded that she was wrong. Then we checked the lines and sure enough, 2 of the 5 lines were out by 3cm, yep, they had problems. Wife didn't know why it didn't fly right but sure as hell knew it wasn't right. 6th Sense for sure.

Yep, simple answer to OP question,,,, just buy it.
