Why does Core xr 4 fly better on a core bar?

So my wife has an Xr 4 quiver and uses a slingshot compstick bar 20 inch. So when trying the kites out with a friends sensor 2 pro bar this resulted in much lower bar pressure and faster turning.

How could that be? Can the low v explain thr difference? Maybe line length?

Short answer: It's because of the V height. You can try shortening the compstick lines by 4m or so.

Right. XRs need a V height bar, both for riding and for safety.

I also rode xr4 on a 20” compstick. I emailed core if the flight characteristics change at all flying the kite with their bar on 20m lines or 30m lines. They said no it will remain the same on any of those line lengths, only thing that changes is size of wind window.

I asked this because I wanted to see if distance from y to kite Changes the kites behaviour and they say no it does not.

So in the end flying the kite with a compstick bar with a 1m high y on 23m lines is the same as flying it with a core bar with a 4.3m high y on 26m line which core says will work perfectly.

So imo it is either placebo effect that it turns faster and less bar pressure, or the compstick has line extensions Or is poorly tuned?
Just my thoughts. Others might know more

If you are really worried about it just buy this and set it 4.3m above the compstick bar with the safety line going through the hole. But I don’t think it is needed.

As far as I can tell high-Y is less safe than low-V as you can’t pull any front line to kill kite power, but only one. Matters a lot for swim-ins and self-landing which you’d want to be able to do on either side. Rotating QR on the chicken loop is nothing safe either. And if you remember when Core bars were snapping in half it certainly doesn’t build confidence.
Core bars are light besides being luxury overall and there it ends for advantages.

Im not saying that guardian/sentinel bars are great neither.

I’d advise to avoid high-Y if possible

Few possible reasons
Sensor Pro has Tectanium lines that is practically like piano wire...nearly no stretch
Front lines to the kite are also shorter by at good 4 meters creating even less stretch
When a V is moderately high it seems that the kite can depower with less bar travel and make it feel with less bar pressure
When a V is like on the Core bar it seems like the kite "hinges" more effectively to spill wind out of it when pushing away bar
Your wife having probably shorter arms will benefit more by all those differences....Sensor bar is also a bit wider by 1/2 inch ...at 52 cm wide setting
A real high Y ( mid-point of 24 & 25m lines ) was the original Rebel and it needed 1/3 less bar travel to depower and it had real low bar pressure
That kite could "hinge" like no other to spill out the wind
Still is my wife's favorite

Some didn’t need to wait that long. To be fair it was an issue on older bars.
But how about exploding struts on XRs? I’ve seen several. A guy buys his XRs brand new with his “I’m rich” attitude and those are issues one wouldn’t expect in luxury items.

As I said still waiting, xr4/5/6 no damage

Small visual corrosion on a swivel in late 2017 early 18 and that was swapped under warranty, that’s the extent of the issues
