So glad to hear SS has a viable and formidable option to what that arrogant jerk at Board Riding Maui (Clouds) offers. Go Slingshot!
What makes you say that about him? Dont know much about him but he seems pretty laid back surfer type guy from what i have seen of him on his videos.
Haters

Greg got ahead of all with strutless and could have milked the design more. He is reportedly a very nice dude in person but his email communication somehow is soaked with attitude which might be just business precaution. The lawsuits in US are not fun and are not cheap to deal with.

Anyway, let’s all be thankful to Greg for his strutless and keep enjoying the design. The UFOs are out (a bit late) and are very good kites.

A tip for relaunching when training edge is down in water - pull on an outer line until wing ear catches air and turns the kite over first

I have watched some of his videos and he seems very honest about who his kites are for. I suspect he has had people he purchased them in the past who they were not suited for.

There is a total Lack of attitude From Greg, just spells it out very very clearly for people, he produces a niche product and looks after the after sakes etc personally so the caution he exercises is totally understandable.

Anyone that has actually met him can attest to his good nature.

I would like hear wind ranges of UFO 5,7,9m in reality on a 1000cm2 hydrofoil. Not "crazy under powered looping kite like crazy to go" low end, but power enough to get up with simple power zone start. And high end that's comfortable.
Frankly, it's hard to believe SS stated ranges.

To get my butt out of water and ride the 5 UFO was exactly the same as 5 SST. They’d certainly stay in the air in less wind, yet just like foil kites - kite flying doesn’t mean you can boardstart.

Upper end might be a notch higher since they depower great but if you want to loop - you won’t be comfortably looping overpowered either of them so I’d assume the same

What has attitude got to do with anything? At the end of the day, your product sells, or doesn’t. My guess is that for every kite BRM sold, there are 1, 2, 3 or even 10 more kites that he could have sold - but didn’t.

This is not a niche product anymore. It’s (becoming) mainstream, and it’s exciting to see another foiling-dedicated kite being available for purchase.

Spent another three hours on the 7 ufo today on my foil, in 12-25 mph wind averaging about 16-18 mph. I am really impressed with this kite. Again, fast pivot turner with lots of loft when sheeted in over head. Really makes all varieties of tack much more fun, and easier. Having owned SST's in sizes 4-9, I am going to say that the 7 ufo covers the full wind range of 7-9 SST's. It may cover the 10 as well, as it stays in the air with very little wind. The sheeting is really pretty spectacular. Silky smooth power modulation. I also had the opportunity to be a bit over powered. I was impressed with the difference pulling two inches of depower rope did regarding increasing the top end. I don't think I would use the 7 ufo when averaging over 20 mph. I am going to get my hands on a 5m asap.

If this is what Cloud kiters have been talking about, I GET IT now!

Hopefully Vasco or another experienced Cloud rider can take a UFO for a spin on event site and I’d post feedback.

Funny that Vasco’s question on the shore was “what about a bar?”. Good question
