If UFO advertised wind ranges are correct, looks like they cover the SS foil range nicely

I‘m struggling to decide what would be a better 2 kite UFO quiver for Foil/Surf:

9m + 7m, 9m + 5m or 7m + 5m?

80kg
12-16knots = 80%
16-24knots = 18%
24knots = 2%

That's a big ask.
Where are you willing to compromise?
5m/7m biased to the foil, compromise on the lighter wind surf sessions.
9m/7m, compromise on the windier foil sessions.

9 and 5
9 from 12 knots to 16
5 from 16 to 23
I use 3 kites to cover this range

^^^* 5+7 in my opinion.
5m - white caps and more
7m - less than white caps

Consider 9m for 10knots

Since the ghost and ufo are essentially the same kite, I am going to guess that the low ends will be fairly similar. So I believe the stated wind range on the ghost and sst does not include foils.

^^^

I assumed as much as well, until I flew the UFO. Different animal. I'd go 5/7 for foiling.

I’d go 5/7 also as that is what I have.

All I am saying is that a 6m sst low end of 24 knots is not on a foil.

The 9 I think is from 8 to 17 knots.

While tacking it shows one disadvantage: While completeley depowered the steering ist uncomfortable. The SST works much nicer when steering completely depowered.

This kite is for the pros. When you ride towards the kite (for example in a mistake while doing a 360), the kite inverts really fast. Then it fell onto the trailing edge. Couldn´t restart. Had to swim to the kite, un-invert it, untangle the bridles, then a restart was surprisingly possible. Same if you drop it in really low wind onto trailing edge. No chance of relaunch, except you swim to the kite and flip it onto the fronttube by yourself.

Just my opinion. Great lowend combined with turning speed. Stays in the air when other kites fall down.
