The Ocean Rodeo Mako is on the narrow edge of the spectrum:
135 x 37 {Aspect ratio = 3.65}
140 x 40 {Aspect ratio = 3.5}
It is not my favorite board for landing jumps, but is great for carving at speed, especially under powered conditions.
A wider board has a lower planing speed (speed required to get up on a plane). A narrower board will have a higher planing speed, but will bounce less (less lift) at the top end, usually giving a higher top end speed. Bump and jump wakestyle tricks pair well with a wide board.

Here's my play on this.

Super powered riding in 30+ is typically rough water, waves and high speed boosting and landing around here.
A small narrow square edged board will hold an edge and boost to the moon. But it will be terrible through chop and high speed landings in said chop will need to be pin point accurate or you will dig the nose in and kartwheel. If you are toby with a butter flat flat water location then small will be serviceable.

If you have open ocean with chop and waves the small will significantly limit your landing and chop riding ability.

A longer wider board will hold less power until you add more rocker, add rocker and you increase your power holding ability.
Increasing rocker and length smoothes out and makes hard and fast landings easy compared to the small narrow board. Adding rocker screws your efficiency,,,, so add some width. Adding width adds more efficiency.

So.... flat water boosts with twisty spider monkey tricks into butter flat easy landings.... small narrow.
30+ knows boostathon with high speed choppy landings. long, wide, high rocker, flexible tips.

If you have something inbetween these 2 extremes then choose a board in between as well.

I have short feet + beeing small -> always have to work to keep the edge down. Straps and pads already moved to the heelside.

Board138x41

I wanted to get the Trax 135x39 but Fone recommended the one size bigger, as the small one is made for 65kg and less ...🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
Trax rides a bit bigger than it is. I ride a 137x42 at 95kg. Powers upwind better than a lot of bigger boards.

Pretty much this. Also adding width tends to increase stiffness, but that depends on layup.

In the end it'll come down to personal preference and how many boards you want to have :).

I find myself desperate to know what the key if for!

I hope its something cool like a smoke canister like the Red Arrows display aeroplanes use.
