I’m looking for the softest surf strap, particularly on the edge that will still keep a shape.
Apparently I tend to push up on the strap with my rear foot when riding toeside and if the strap is sharp on the edge it bothers the top of my foot.
I have been using the NSI surf strap but discovered it has an integral piece of plastic that juts out the side of the webbing. Now I need something softer.
I’m using the chinook surf lite straps which are ok.
The slingshot straps seem pretty soft in the sides. I’ve never seen a duotone surf strap but they look like they might be an option.
Any help?

I think its better to have a soft edge on both sides
Symmetrical soft you can switch your feet around
Step jibes
Mix it up
Go Toeside left foot back or right foot back
Many riders do both in same sesh
Natural and goofy
DUOTONE are the softest there is
Before that they where called NORTH
FLEXZONE is the key word here

Try Dakine supremos.

NSI Proton are my all time favorite straps. Very soft on the feet.

I have those, have been out on them just once and they felt good, not drawing (negative) attention to them. Got them at a steep discount, only €29:

Are you talking about for a TT, or a SB?

OK. Then I've gotta say, I don't understand the need for those wide straps at all. If you're using straps on a SB you don't want a strap that locks you in place like on a TT, you really want something that offers minimal "hold", so that you can slip in & out easily & pot in gybes. I would recommend Dakine straps, like the Primo:

Soft on the feet when they're reasonably new. They need to be replaced every year or two, depending on usage.
