The WOO app has three options ("Games"): Big air, Free style and Free ride. Free ride seems to capture interesting data for hydrofoiling (max speed, max upwind angle etc). My WOO (3.0) appears to have only big air and free style options, no Free ride. Does anybody have an idea how come ? Am I wrong ? Is there already a WOO 4 ?
Hi Pemba,

There will be no WOO 4.0 device this year. We are leveraging all the data we can take from existing 3.0 devices.

The metrics which are interesting for your foiling session (graphical map overlays, speed, longest tack, upwind angle, etc) are available as "Freeride". All you need to use this "Freeride" feature is just taking a phone with you in a pouch and "start Freeride session". It will work, even if you don't have a WOO device, as long as you have the PRO app and a WOO account to upload your freeride sessions.

Hope that clarifies.

Cheers :thumb:
Thanks, yes that clarifies things. Should have thought of writing an email to WOO first, sorry about that..

I am not sold on this "pay us for the chance to kill your expensive phone in the water" approach.
why not use any of the smart watches for gps stuff?
they are cheaper, not as bulky and you can use them for display of realtime woo data..
I mean, common, now I need woo, phone and the watch to get all the features? :-)
We totally agree with you. There are 2 (temporary) but's, let me explain in all openess:

1) For the Live and Safety package that we will release we need 3G, 4G or 5G connectivity. Probably next year or so this connectivity will happen in most smartwatches but at this stage in many countries for example the eSIM in the connected Apple watch is not supported by network operators. Nor are many Android watches or Garmin for that matter. So we need phones for now.

2) Some watches have pretty good GPS but many are not yet on the level that a phone brings. That too will change in the future.

We are prepping in our roadmap for both phone and watch users

Hope that clarifies why we support phones.

I have Premium membership, would that transfer to PRO membership?

and

can I use Apple Watch instead phone on the water to all GPS data ?
Premium transfers to PRO automatically (without paying the difference), you should have received an email last weekend as Premium user. Please check the email address that is used in your Premium account (and send us an email to support if you did not get an email so we can fix that).

The Apple watch supports Freeride with GPS. So for that there is no phone required. For an "Anaylitcs PRO +" session you will need a phone at this stage.

Hope that answers your question, if not, please mail us at support and we send you a diagram which explains this.

Cheers.

I just signed up for Woo Pro. I’ll I be able to see the analytics on past sessions or only on future sessions?

Why are so many packages listed on your website, when the only package available Is Woo Pro (at least from the Apple Store)? It is confusing. Will I get the Pro options or the Pro+?

It would be nice if you purchased the Pro package that you could see the analytics of the best jumps recorded by other users. That would give the user more info on what it takes to go higher and farther.

The Woo 3.0 is a great product and makes sessions even more fun. :thumb:

fernmanus you have to use it with a cell phone for the extra data to record. If the jumps are not recorded using a phone it will not have the data so that is the only way to see it. Old jumps and others that do not use Pro will unfortunately not have it.

I wish you could filter other Pro users when looking through sessions. All so they need to make some tutorials on how to use Pro. It is not as simple as turn on and hit record.

Do you have to carry a cell phone on you whilst kiting, or does the woo store the data then uploads to the phone after session.

Is there a fundamental reason why It can not work with the Apple Watch with Cellular? It has 3g/4g, Bluetooth and GPS. Its basically a tiny iphone on wrist and much more convenient to use then to take an iphone in a pouch.
Will there be support for Anaylytics+ with an Apple watch in the future?
