Hello Darkness my new best friend.
I've come to ride with you again
Because a vision of waves rising
Left its trough explode while I was slashing
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of roaring silence
20200911_134810.jpg
So. Excited.

How do you guys feel about pivot for learning kiteloops? I have felt that the pull is gentle but that it doesn't neccesarily climb that fast. I have 2015 and 2016 models considering gettimg the 2020 on the runout sale but a bit concerned that maybe I should try a different kite for learning loops

Yesterday I tested my new Pivot 12m. The kite is brilliant, it's fast and has amazing hangtime.
I like these colors even more than the Pivot black LE :naughty:

I'm learning kite loops on Pivots atm and I'm at the point where I can reliably get my 7m and 9m to catch me with only a 2-3m jump. What I've found though is that when the wind is on the lighter side, you really need to sheath out the bar to get the kite to climb fast enough.

The scarier to kiteloop, the better pull of kite will be ( on strong wind kite pulls more). Also on higher wind pivot catches better - that is what I find out.

I got the 11 in regular design and I think it looks sweet. The 8 is special tho, whenever I can go on it, I'll be giddy. I wouldn't say I used undue pressure, but I really really wanted at least one LE version. :-)
Can't wait to get it launched tho.

What type of kiteloops are you talking? If you talk regular kite loops and not powered mega loops any of the pivots sizes are perfect for it, and don't worry the kite has plenty pull if you want it to have...One of the stand out things for me is that you can drop power even mid loop. Not recommending that approach thom but it can make a failed loop just hurt and not break you. :D
For mega loops...I am definitely no expert...its beyond what my old body can handle...but the videos shows that the 10 and down seems to climb fine. Like on any other you need a lot of height for it and you definitely need to be super comfortable in all the other types of loops with rotations etc, before even attempting a megaloop IMO. I have gotten pretty injured from missed loops way back so take that into consideration. One way of doing it would be to get your pivot, then add a set of shortlines and take it from there.

Yeah that is definitely sweet looking. I got the blueish version for my 11 and the LE for the 8. I am getting abit jealous on your colors tho. I hate that I discuss kite colors now...shit...I have never cared much unless the kite has a skull, then I want that.
