What band do you use on your Apple Watch? Their standard rubber one doesn’t instill a lot of confidence about staying on.

Garmin Fenix 5. 3 years and going strong. Battery lasts 2 weeks not using GPS. Using GPS i get 6 hours tracking and 3-4 days use.

i use a Garmin Forerunner 310xt. its an early/old model that looks like your wearing a tissue box. worse is the need to use a dongle to do updates (not wifi)....get quite a bit of flak for its look/size but still works Would be keen for a fenix but cant justify it and rather spend on other gear to get me on the water more or stay there.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum. Can somebody tell me if Garmin Instinct Solar Standard is good to register hydrofoil kite sessions? including monitoring top speeds? Or the "Surf" version would be better?
thanks

Apple Watch 3. Hundreds of sessions. One on the bottom of the ocean. But replaced next day with a cheap, used one.
I like the ability to use different apps, for example Waterspeed.
No I put a neoprene band on it while kitesurfing, to limit the risk of loosing it again: part cut from a old wetsuit

The Instinct and the Surf are very similar, but the surf has tides very prominent. If you have no use for that the instinct would be fine, you can download a tides widget for it in the iq store if you need that info.

I've owned Garmin watches for a while. I had a Fenix 3 HR for many years, I have a 245 Music and recently upgraded to a Fenix 6 Saphire. The Saphire watches are absolutely bombproof and last me 6 years or so, I do a lot of sports so it's worth it to me. For me having Spotify on the watch is a game changer, I no longer need to bring a phone on runs or sessions.

I use the Fenix, 10atm rather than 5atm of the other Garmin watches. There is a lot of force put on the watch in crashes hence the 10atm being preferred. Use a webbing strap, not the plastic one, they break with no warning.
Fenix suffer from corrosion on the charge points which eventually stops the watch from being charged. I’ve just had a Fenix 5 replaced due to this. Buy the small silicon covers off eBay to cover the charge point, add a tiny bit of grease inside the cover. This will keep the charge points shinny like new.

No you can't. The Instinct does not support the IQ Store unfortunately.
