I would like to get an impact vest that is visible from space. Not necessarily distant galaxies but at least near earth orbit. I want boaters, jet skiers and others to have one less excuse for running me over. If I smash myself up I want to make it as easy as possible for someone to find my poor mangled body and pull it to safety. Can I find such a device? No I cannot not. I have found one for woman that is a delicate lime green but that is it.
I don't get it. I have yet to meet a kiter who doesn't like to be seen pulling off a trick yet everyone is geared up as if they are trying to sneak in under enemy lines.
Additionally seals are the favorite food of great white sharks and killer whales, so call me crazy, but wearing something that makes look less like a seal might be a better idea than basic black.
I know black is supposed to be slimming but Beau Brummel not withstanding I would rather be seen.

Do you even fashion, bro?
I just got a bright red helmet for similar reasons. Why would I want to blend in out there!?

Too funny, Grizwald.
Thanks for the well-needed laughs.
I also have been looking for a visible (preferably bright yellow) impact vest for foilboarding. Do the yellow Neil Pryde vests provide impact protection as well as flotation? Also, is there a vest that won't interfere with a rope slider harness?

Yes for the NP vests! The difference is simply the thickness of the foam. Impact vests are generally thinner or have modified foam paneling, but both will offer impact protection.
What vest are you using now and how is it interfering with your rope slider? I might have some suggestions since I use a rope slider too.

Kayak PFD are cheap, have better flotation, are brightly colored and won't interfere with you harness. I've been using one for years. I use the type that has a little padding on the sides to protect my ribs. That, and a roller skating helmet from Decathlon: cheap as hell, super comfortable, big vents for water drainage and lasts forever (no metal parts to corrode)

I saw someone wearing an old ‘Barcelona away’ strip over their wetsuit. ....yeah but great whites probably support Real Madrid...clues in the name.

Bright colours fade really quickly. Black doesn't fade much at all.
If you want bright colours wear a bright rashie over the impact vest.
Why do you want an impact vest? What are you trying to protect yourself from?

You are ok for late evening sessions. In low light you lose colour perception and are more easily seen as a solid black shape, but if you fall in try not to look like a seal because this also applies to sharks! A rash vest in a solid colour is a good choice because you can also use it as a bag to stuff your kite in so that it could be easily retrieved when the sun comes up!
